My first microphone was a Radio Shack mic. I've beaten the hell out of that microphone, but it I still have it and it still works. I've had that thing since 1980.

I have had many mikes in the past but the first one I can recall was a Shure mike which I used for mobile DJ work.... can't remember what happened to it...its probably in a box in the garage and I will find it one day.The first Studio mike was an old AKG mike from the 70's which I bought second hand in the eighties and I binned last year. Showing my age....

What was your first mic? :voiceover:

When I first started doing Voice Overs I used a USB Microphone called the Blue SnowBall (http://www.bluemic.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Products&file=index&prod_id=18). I figured if I sucked doing VO then I would not have a lot wrapped up in it... Since then I have purchased my first good mic the Rode NT-1A.

Kindest Regards,

Jerry

First mic was an AudioTechnica ATR30 (cheap rip off of the SM58).
First condenser was the M-Audio Solaris.

Hmm first mic. Im really not sure. My first one of my own, not shared was a Logitech premuim notebook headset. I have one but not my first one. lol... you know what I mean when its corded and you fall backwards in your chair... the wires pull and its not a fun time, especially when you ARE broadcasting.

But that microphone is usally for personal use for a home comp. or labtop.

My first mic from back in the 80s was a second hand Shure Unidyne II. I still managed to get away with using it to record commercials and imaging for a few years, but that was in the days of reel to reel tape and when doubletracking was best way getting reverb if you couldn't afford an effects unit (or taking the mic into the back yard !!).

Unfortunately it fell into disrepair and was later binned !

It was a crap mic. supplied with an old Philips EL 3302 cassette machine, with a really naff on-off button to star/stop the cassette- which invariably led to chewed tapes :-(

Lookie here http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/clt/742879229.html

Now, I have a second-hand mic. cost me 50 (which I bought off a crusty and cynical ol' radio journo...) which I use- hey, times haven't changed that much LOL!!!!
