I would like to nominate Brutish Sailor as member of the year. What a great guy to have on the forum. Just look at the sheer number of posts he has made in only a month. If only more members would get involved as much as he does.

It is people just like Brutish Soldier that make a forum. On behalf of the UK members in Nottingham, I would like to extend a huge WELL DONE to Brutish Sailor and congratulate him on being a member above all others.:biggrinthumb:

I agree JM ...
but isn't that something We all do ?
During my first Month as BW member I achieved some "sticky" topics (with thanks to James) .. thats something awesome to see that happen as new(bie) member
I have currently at BW more reps in nearly 6 Months time than I ever achieved at that "other" place We all know by name .. and at that "other" place I have been a contributing member for about 5 years.

I'm pretty sure that the positive attitude of James and his crew of admins makes BW a great place to be .. this reflects on all the other members .. and members such as Brutish Sailor do feel themself welcome into this community and do make lots of great contributions.
Afterall BW is all about broadcasting (and not only free VO) and thats the most important difference to "other" similar forums

Just was willing to share this :)

I agree!

What a nice guy, and very helpful!

He even went on my website and complimented my station in the chat box!

He is deserving of the "award" on my watch.

Hope you're reading this! :)

Thanks guys, but Im no streaming expert.

Fozzy is WAY ahead of the game on understanding legalities outside the US.

TheBeat understands his listeners a lot more than I ever will.

Philippe with GKREurope is breaking boundaries in streaming quality I never thought possible... My wife still ask me constantly what station I listen to every time I tune in (shes definitely a bigger fan of your show than mine). and your 128kbps stream sounds beats mine in sound quality hands down.

Wayne, you are my hero as far as the advice for VIOP handeling.

All the voice over artist and broadcasters have been some of the most valuable resources I have in the last month getting my act together.

Im seriously not member of the year worthy just yet. My site still looks a little off (like an infant with crayons off) since moving its name servers to a server without RSVSite builder. But one step at a time.Just means I need to learn Xoops. Listener count has dropped as well (like a brick from space) since the DNAS server shift.

But I highly appreciate this nomination. At the moment, I would rather just like to still learn from the pros like yourselves then to think I earned a nomination from much more sucessful people in the industry like yourself.

Im only a baby at this, and half my post are more over questions. But for a plumber/welder, I think I have done all right for starting to touch a computer 5 months ago, and starting to stream 4 months ago. It just goes to show you what you can accomplish when you put your head to the forums and let everything soak in.

i am just a home broadcaster, and its been a struggle, but I wouldnt have it any other way.

Again, thank you to this community, I couldn't be where I am without you.

...and thank you to all the webhost as well. I dont thank you guys for support enough, and sometimes I know it seems like Im just trying to avoid your services. Truth is, Im broke as dirt and struggling to support 4 mouths (the in-laws, nothing like telling your father-in-law,brother-in-law, and mother-in-law they will obey your rules when under your roof. LOL) But Im not trying to skim you all of your services in whatever it be , AAC+ support, whatever. You guys are the backbone of the radio industry. I respect that.

But I highly appriciate this nomination reguardless. Once I start bragging about my radio statistics, I hope I get nominated again LOL.

Edit: 3-10 Your way above my head with skill as well!

Edit this Edit: I also wanted to give a shot out to James (lost80's radio, linux genius) and Preston. Just because I know Preston will eventually see this and say "COME ON MAN!" LOL.

You could put for streaming MASTERMINDS in a forum, and I guarantee a guy new to the streaming community wouldnt pick up as much from them as they do from us combined.

There is no doubt in my mind that Brutish has been a great member, but I think it would be unfair to single out anyone and give them some sort of award, as I am sure that every member on this forum feels that they are important, and I am sure some people's feelings would be greatly upset if you were to give out something like this.

People such as Philippe have been just as helpful and generous with their time, and I think that we have many excellent members that cannot be compared.

That's why im not putting on a forum awards contest this year! Everyone who has ever registered on our forum is worthy of a reward! Sure some stand out but everyone contributes and everyone gets something out of it!

How am i thanking you guys? By hosting and upgrading the sites features as much as possible I will do some thankyous on behalf of the staff at BW like Brutish has...

Premium members have really helped us gain our reputation! From what your donation goes to helps us advertise and maintain our website. Our budget is tight but you guys help us out!

Stream Hosts, i thought it wasn't possible to have all stream hosts helping others out but from what I am seeing on my own site, Stream Hosts are helping other stream host customers out! I don't know how that works but its fantastic having experts in stream hosting on our site!

Our Imaging Professionals, the core of our forum, you keep the place alive and in great spirit! On behalf of me and everyone who has received free productions and voiceovers from all our Imaging Pro's, THANKYOU! This day and age is tough for everyone but you fantastic people are more than happy to donate your wonderful talent!

To my volunteer staff, w-o-w. You are all such a great bunch of people, you have contributed so many ideas I would have never thought of and I can trust all of you to maintain our community and soon our entire site!

Everyone, it has been a year to remember and a hell of a lot of new looks for our site (hehe). You are all great people in helping me and everyone in new knowledge of Broadcasting, Webcasting and Imaging skills! Thankyou!

*Spelling fixed for those who wanted it fixed ;)

Thanks all!

I'm one of them foreigners from the US - trying to figure out my place in this Broadcasting World (site pun - I've been at this thing for a while). lol It's been fun for me to see the International flavor of this forum. I think it's been helpful to see more non-US viewpoints regarding broadcasting and life in general. That's what has kept me coming back - even if I don't post as much.

Kindest regards,

G
