What Music Do You Play? I Play 80s 90s and todays music but i find more people sick around when the 80s are playing .... I did try this as a test now i played 8 80s tracks and didint lose anyone out of 17 then played 3 top 40 tracks and lost 8 people. Im Thinking of going just 70s and 80s coz it seems to pull and keep people on you station .. I will keep on testing and if it seems 70s and 80s work best thats the way ill go :)

That's true. Some listeners like those familiar songs what they have always listened from radio, and of course, some listeners just like those 80's hits.:biggrinthumb: For example I do. :)

This is not FM Radio, you don't need to be "everything to everyone" .. if your listeners are enjoying 80s then keep the 80s coming, no need to throw in top 40 music, it'll just be confusing for everyone! If they want to hear 80s they'll find your station and leave it on, but playing all sorts of music will turn them off from listening. Just keep it focused on what it's supposed to be and think about the audience you are targeting.

The way I look at it....I always play music that I, as the DJ, like personally. Then, it attracts people with the same music taste. Sometimes its good, sometimes its not. Personally, I enjoy Rock, Punk, Metal etc:)

I play from the 50's to 80's, a few 90's (UK & US) and only the latest that I like which these days tends to be few. A Lot of New Zealand & Australian music, US country (my wifes a big fan) and the old 60's surf guitar greats (we are in a surfing town with the best left hand break in the world) not that I surf.

My original stream has played 70s, 80s and 90s since 2005 and listeners are still there! I have a 70s stream and an 80s only stream also and the 80s one is popular, sometimes matching listener levels of my main stream. I know the owner of all80sradio and he always get good listener stats and that's been running for years also.

Right now, I'm hooked into songs of the 90s. My interest in music depends on my mood :)
