View Full Version : Radio Station for Sale

02-10-2010, 11:45 PM
Hey everyone. I'm in the process of getting out of the radio programming business and would like to offer up Alternative HD. The station has a daily listener peak of 300-350 (weekdays) and growing, and had just over 122,000 listener hours last month. It's listed on iTunes and Windows Media Guide, as well as most other station directories. (Listener proof: http://s2.total-streaming.com:8000/ and http://yp.shoutcast.com/ttsl.html #512)

Here's what's included:

- Domain name - alternativehd.com
- The current web site
- Music library
- Station on-air imaging
- Station logo
- Automation for 6 months (from http://shoutautomation.com)

The Shoutcast server (400 slots @ 160k) can be added in for $50/month (value network, but has had almost no downtime).

This station does not include any licensing. The buyer would be fully liable for all licensing.

I'm starting the bid at $100. It's been my favorite station to listen to, so I'd like to see it end up in good hands. Any questions, let me know. I can be directly contacted at kjkoning@gmail.com.

Says the server is down. That will cause a de-listing in itunes and windows media. Possibly interested.

Ah, the station was prematurely shutdown. Everything is back up.

WOW $100 is a great deal. If I weren't saving up for my honeymoon in March I would definitely buy it from you...

Congrats on your wedding Tim!

On a side note, if anyone is interested in a Ska radio station that needs some love, I'd be glad to part with SkaRadio.net's automation, music, and imaging to someone who likes the music and wants to run it. It has been listed on Windows Media Guide, but it only receives a peak of 12 listeners during the day. It does get a lot of community response though, as I've been contacted numerous times from bands to play their music.

I have just sent you an e-mail on buying this station, are you the owner of the station? If so what is the highest bid as of now.

I have bid $150 .. I would assume that someone would need to top that. Food for thought before making an offer.

Sorry everyone, I've been out sick. Yes I'm the owner, and as wildun said, the bid is at $150. I can extend it through tomorrow. If you want to bid higher than $150, please email me (kjkoning@shoutservices.com). I will post here tomorrow when bidding is closed.

I'll add that the transfer has been very smooth so far and I am happy with the station. All is not done but I do not forsee any problems.

Hi John,
I hear ya, I'm very happy with the purchase and I'm glad you missed it :) lol.
I have passed on my old station and am now just operating the new one. KJ has already done an excellent job of getting listeners, I'm just adding to what he started. I'll also say I'm loving the automation system, man it's nice not to have to run an extra pc just for the station. Don't think I'd take $200 for it, sorry. I guess that saying that the early bird gets the worm held true on this transaction.

Name a price.
