I have been running a few Internet radio stations for fun, but now with time on my hands I want to run them better, I am need help with this issue:
I run a OTR station, what I am looking for is a Sam pal script that will play certain programs at a certain time, ex: F:\my Music\Barrie Craig\ (File name or prefer randomly) @ letís say 8 pm each night, letís say there are 150 MP3 Programs in that directory, My main concern is that it plays random each night at 8 pm, Monday through Friday, and same set up but different programs Saturday and Sunday. I would like to do this for 15 different programs. I have done some basic pal scripts, but nothing of this size. I intend to do this for the 24/7 so listeners know when a certain program is on, just like days of old.
so I would want it to play from that directory at a certain time, most programs or under 30 minutes and I would like to start 1 program at top of hour and 1 different directory at: 30 minutes past, I use Sam 4.6.4, I am thinking Big band will fill in the difference, that part I figured out, any help appreciated, and if someone can help me, please let me know.

Hello,

Please check my "sticky topics" about PAL
http://forums.broadcastingworld.net/showthread.php?t=7199
These details do have several chapters made as a part 1 and part 2
You gonna find the most wanted PAL scripts, also that one your are in search for.
Use next time the "search" tool :D

Create a new clockwheel for the 8pm program and another for the Weekend program. Create categories within SAM for these files and move them to the new categories. Have the clockwheel pull from only these categories, enforce rules, use random selection (or LRP so they all get played eventually). Then schedule the programs using the Event scheduler.

When these programs are done use the scheduler to load your normal rotation clockwheel again.
