The building ,demolishing ,moving and storing of props and backgrounds , which are wasting the time, money and space and causing the fireproofing difficulty , not only increase the budget but also reduce the efficiency of program-making .Just as these problems are haunting the television producers , the virtual reality technique found its way into radio and television production in the 1980s and derive the concept of virtual studio and then comes the actual useful virtual studio technique .The history of virtual studio is very short , its performance is far behind people ‘s expectations while its price far beyond most TV stations ‘ budget .Why are there more than 100 stations all over the world still eager to buy it ?The answer is its tempting advantages : economic characteristics of low budget , technical characteristics of keeping the correct perspective relation of foreground and background and the artistic characteristics of free creation based on imagination .

The last characteristics is the most important one , as its unique artistic features gives the scene designer and producer enough freedom to be creative with their imagination ,which generates the virtual scenes that is impossible for physical and financial reasons of traditional studio . For the temptation of virtual studio in the aspect of program-making , it has already shown its strong vitality .

After virtual studio has been used for television , programs are more intriguing and satisfying thanks to the rich and colorful images .

Wireless video transmission kit question.

Does anyone here use a wireless video transmission kit. I have one but the range is questionable for what I need it for now. I need something that easily gets 500-600 feet line of sight. I have checked and found that the Cinegears Ghost-Eye Wireless HD &SDI Video Transmission Kit 150M V2 is a nice piece with good range. Anyone care to comment? Thanks.

Radio frequency question - drone remote & 2nd wireless video feed

I am flying a DJI Inspire 2 UAV and have been enjoying the capability of feeding video to a 29" field monitor using the wired HDMI out from its remote controller. I recently purchased a Vaxis 1000ft wireless video transmission system, which would free me from the physical tether between the radio controller and the field monitor.

The radio controller switches between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz transmission, depending on environmental factors, but can be manually set to either. The drone, according to DJI, is controllable to a maximum distance of about 2 1/2 miles - much farther away than I could legally fly it since that is beyond visual range from the operator. The Vaxis system operates between 5.1GHz and 5.9GHz on 10 user-switchable channels.

HERE'S MY QUESTION:

Since the Vaxis system and the DJI remote controller, in theory, could overlap in the 5GHz range DOES THAT RULE OUT USING THE 5 GHz FREQUENCY RANGE TO CONTROL THE DRONE WHILE USING THIS SET-UP FOR A WIRELESS TRANSMISSION FEED?

I'm no tech guy but this seems like an obvious conflict - or maybe there's more to this that I simply don't understand yet (??).

Any comments?

Analog audio for Sony PXWX-180 w/ sdi over fiber output

Hi guys, I need to transfer live video output from my PXWX180, so I use sdi over fiber extenders, but audio comes as embedded ancillary data, I would need to divide it from video and have it as aux audio, how can I perform it? Any advice is appreciated.

So a local school wants to live-webcast their events (Friday night football, basketball, concerts etc) online.

They have a laptop, an HDMI-Output camera, and a Windows 2012 server on a 100mbps pipe with both IIS8/IIS Smooth Streaming and Darwin Streaming Server installed.

They bought a Hauppauge PVR2 as a USB video adapter and the thing is so proprietary that it will only output to Twitch, UStream and nothing else. Microsoft's Expression Encoder and other 3rd party encoders don't want to play with the Hauppauge - It doesn't seem to support DirectShow so all you ever get is a black screen.

I need help steering them in the right direction. This kit will travel to away games too. So given that I need to be able to encode to either Windows Media Serve or Darwin Streaming Server, with a Laptop/Windows 7, does ANYONE have a hardware recommendation for the USB capture device?

Program or hardware that will run a school TV channel???

We have our own school TV channel that is broadcast throughout the surrounding area. It has become real popular over the last 3 years. We have a lot of people watching and that is great. The problem for us is that because we have a lot of people watching, they like to know when certain programs are going to be on and I understand that. The problem we have for this is that we have a lot of content and programs and games that may run for 45min, or 90 minutes or even 2 hrs.

We have a computer that runs an older program that is totally archaic and that was actually geared for VCR time. It was really made more for a power point type of product. I try to run it on a schedule but it is too time consuming to do so. We run our channel 24/7 and just loop a lot of content to play randomly as much is just student projects and start times are not important.

The issue we have is this. Let's say we want to schedule a game for 4pm on Tuesday. The day is not the issue. The issue becomes the time. Let's say a 45 minute program happens to come on at 3:55 and our game is scheduled at 4, that 4 o'clock start time will not happen. It won't start until 4:40. This never used to be an issue with our channel but because it has become so popular people are getting spoiled. So popular after a death of a patron they left his memorial to our network.

Is there something out there that is more geared to video and for time schedules. Hardware based? Software based?

Does this even make sense? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

[TD]Hi, I make music videos for a living, using dslr camera's. I want to expand to a few new gig's such as broadcasting a live event... we will only have one camera and 4 tv's and evertything will be connected by a Teradek BOLT.

My question is.... when i stream from my dslr VIA a hdmi to a tv on my tv screen I have all the settings on the screen from my menu.. ISO, Fstop, Battery life, etc etc.... I called cannon and they said my camera can not stream with out anything on the screen... I was able to take everything away expect the focal rings.. so on the TV you would see all the Focal Points.. so i am going to get a broadcasting camera for this GIG... what camera should i get that is able to stream live video with out any of these settings info on the sides... is it just dslr's that have this problem? is this a easy fix with a high quality broadcasting camera? is it in the settings to turn this stuff off??

I need a wireless mic system

I am looking for a handheld wireless mic system that has a range of at least 400' or even a little more. It will be used for sideline reporting and other things but when doing sideline reporting it will be a long distance from the base to the mic. I would like to keep it under the $400 mark as we are a school on a budget. I really like the Audio-Technica System 10 Digital Wireless - Handheld System range but it only has a range of 100' is what they say. Does anyone know of any good deals out there that would work? Wireless XLR option

I am looking for something that will make this work for me. We do a live video stream for our high school basketball team. The one problem is at this point is that we don't have a play by play person and will need to tap into our radio guy. Half the time I will just be able to plug into the back of his box and run a 10' XLR cable to make it work. The other half of the time I will need something wireless that I will have to use to get the sound into our audio mixer. The hookup would be XLR out to XLR in. What would work for that? Thanks.

Just thinking out loud.... Would anyone be able to give any advice on this,

Im looking to set up a very basic replay system, one input. There are a handful of chase play systems for mega dollars, but there must be a simple solution,

I have been thinking about the possibility of using a Coax Sat/Cable box with live pause and rewind etc.. Very common and cheap, comes with HDD and all that, If i could somehow get a cdmi/sdi signal to feed into the unit as a vhf/uhf signal it should work???

IS there a cost effective way to convert HDMI/SDI to Coax UHF/VHF in HD?? Not looking for anything wireless just coax converter, Surely the cable box would be able to pick up the signal??

With this, I would feed the HDMI output of the Cable box into the mixer, Throw a upstream keyer logo "REPLAY" or similar over the onscreen pause rewind graphics if there are any and this should all work.... Or am i missing something??

Needing a little advice on a Computer Video system

I am needing a little advice and don't really know where to turn so I am here asking if anyone could answer with experience or point me in the right forum direction to find out the answer. What I am doing is trying to setup a video system in a gymnasium. We have two jumbo screens on the walls that we will use to play certain things during the games such as intros, player pics, graphics etc. We have a balun with HDMI to cat 5 running to the projectors that will play the video. We also have a speaker control to run all sound from our vantage point. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? I could use a TriCaster 40 which would make it easy but the cost is a little prohibitive at this point. I am thinking of building a computer to run the video to play to the pjs but was wanting to know what some would think needs to go inside the computer? CPU, Video card, capture card? I will play HD video with this so it will need something fairly powerful. Also, I am planning on a possibility of several things to also do. We are for sure going to hook up several cameras and have them at various places during the game and show the crowd and different things during the game. We also live stream our games so I was hoping that I could possibly use those cameras for added looks too instead of a single camera. I just need to find something that will make this possible. We will be using HD cameras with either component out or HDMI out to go into our capture device. We don't have SDI camcorders or anything SDI and probably won't either. IPTV implementation

I am doing a market research on IPTV implementation for a private company. The company intends to get into the IPTV Business ( STB+satellite dish+ Internet). The company is currently into the manufacturing of various types of Telecom connectors and this will be a kind of horizontal diversification.

I have a few questions :-

1) Are the STBs for delivering IPTV different from the conventional DTH/ pay TV STBs?

2) Is Analog TV (CRT) capable enough to broadcast via IPTV?

3) How can IPTV be so cheap in comparison to DTH/ pay TV? I mean, won't your internet bill reach sky high because of constant streaming of HD media?

Is there a sport audio mixer?

I was wondering if anyone knew if there is actually a mixer that works in a sports setting? What I am looking for would be a mixer that would have the analyst have headphones that had the audio of the game in one ear but in the other ear a spotter tells them what is going on. It would be great to have 3 or 4 headphones jacks if possible. One for each analyst. We may have one or two. One for the spotter so he or she can relay info to the analyst. One for the camera man if that is possible. We are all somewhat new to this so any advice would be appreciated.

Our scenario is we will be streaming football games live and want it to be as professional as possible. Here is our setup to this point. Our camera has an HDMI out which we will be sending to an Altona HD-530 that we will be purchasing in the near future. The HDMI will then be output to a 23" monitor that the main camera man will be using to see a larger picture. From the Altona HD-530 we will then take composite out into a laptop (or Tricaster 40 later in the year maybe) that will be the AV that is being streamed.

The mixer part would be on its own. Does it even make sense as to what I am trying to do with the mixer?

We have a school channel our local cable company has provided for us. I am a new media teacher and want to utilize this channel to advertise the best product that our town puts out. OUR STUDENTS. Right now on channel 12 what we do is put up some pictures(slides) with a software program called MediaPlay. If we want to play video we just add it and then we schedule it to play at certain times and this does seem to work. Our software is outdated as it works only with XP as far as I know and it is rather costly to update. Does anyone know of something that would be a good fit for what we would like to do? I would like to show our student video projects, new broadcasts, classroom pictures of activies going on along with some of the slides of Mission statements our schools need to advertise and any other ideas we come up with along the way. If this makes sense, and you have some ideas, would you please help me out with some suggestions to make this work. Thanks.

Question to anyone that owns the Panasonic AG-AC90?

I have just purchased the Panasonic AG-AC90 and have a question I need answered. It has to deal with the AV cable that comes with the camera. When I plug in the AV to the AV section in the camera it won't put out a signal to be able to stream something from the camera. The only way I can stream anything is to use the HDMI part of the camera. Is there some setting I am missing as to why it won't stream out from the AV plug when I am recording? Thanks.
