  1. Grrrrrrr!! why does everyone think a bad software reviewer is me all the F**KING time? Sorry but you need to get your facts straight James & Shoutcast streaming. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience on the RadioDJ forums it's not usually like that.... I've retired from the RadioDJ forums through choice just have "other" things to concentrate on. The other users are normally very helpful. So I'm not sure who was condescending towards you. What exactly is the problem you had with the Cue editor? Sometimes you have to manually edit cue points in RadioDJ as isn't 100% foolproof. I know it doesn't like VBR Mp3 files sometimes. I wouldn't have got your screen name as we do indeed NOT have SNL over in the UK (Not on the channels we watch) Next time your going to accuse a bad software review of being mine THINK! in future.... Other people get pissed off at software too!
  2. Whoa them packages are expensive for what you actually get & with very little bandwidth. I see NO streaming packages though (again)
  3. RadioDJ has another update CHANGES LIST: - M3U playlist load bug fixed; - Album art image bug fixed; - Minor bug fixes; TO UPDATE FROM THE LATEST VERSION v1.7.2 METHOD 1 1. Replace all .dll files with the new ones; 2. Replace RadioDJ.exe with the new one; 3. Replace PluginInterface.dll with the new one; METHOD 2 1. Unzip the new version somewhere on your HDD; 2. Delete from the new package the settings files (they are named like settings_XXXXX.xml); 3. Copy all files from the new package over your old files in order to overwrite them; ALTERNATE METHOD 3 1. Replace all the files with the new ones; 2. Customize the settings for the program/plugins; http://radiodj.ro/download Hope this helps people! There are no Database changes needed if you are currently using a 1.7.x version.
  4. The main reason i run a standalone encoder is the fact I need it to pick up the sound coming in from the mixer via the line in socket. It picks the sound from my microphone up without the need for a microphone input button in the software. I always had bad latency issues with built in microphone buttons in software. I also find it sounds a lot better with a standalone enocder..... Everyone does it their way & it's a case of whatever works for you I guess.
  5. When it comes to Automation software on the market at the moment do you prefer a product that has encoding built in or do you prefer to use a standalone piece of encoding software such as BUTT/Altacast/Radiocaster? I've tested several pices of standalone encoding software and most of them have performed OK. Wasn't over keen on BUTT or MBRecaster (free version). Couldn't test radiocaster properly due to the "Stream Encoded by Radiocaster" message over the stream every 15 minutes in the demo. I know myself I now prefer to use a standalone encoder software such as Altacast as it just leaves RadioDJ to concentrate on working the rotations & music etc etc. I find the standalone encoding products generally work better than the built in encoders on other pieces of automation software I've used. I find them less CPU intensive and it saves a lot of hassle and they seem to hold up a lot longer than the built in ones. Which do you prefer? Built in or Standalone? (P.S: I don't want this turning into an argument)
  6. Do you use RadioDJ? If so can you please do other would be users a favour by posting a testimonial on the Radio DJ forums http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?board=32.0 Tell people what is so good about the software and WHY they should be using it. I know there are other satisfied users of RadioDJ out there! We just need you to shout it from the rooftops!
  7. There are FM stations already using RadioDJ for their playout system. We see the owners of those stations posting quite regular on the RDJ forums. I'm glad it's not just me that thinks that. I found Zara radio very tricky to use. I also found it didn't crossfade that well. You would be better of learning how a system like RadioDJ works IMHO as that has all the features that most radio dj's need. Plus it's also FREE & it's a really stable piece of software once you get used to it.
  8. So it's about a week ago 1.7.2 came out and my copy has been running rock solid constantly. No hiccups no errors it just works flawlessly. If you haven't discovered RadioDJ Free Radio Automation yet what are you waiting for?? http://radiodj.ro After all it's FREE and comes with great support on the community forums. http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php
  9. I occasionally see posts from people on the feature requests section of the RadioDJ forum asking for a microphone input button. RadioDJ has had one before in v1.6.0 and the latency issues were just awful. You don’t need a Microphone button in the software! 1) Get yourself a decent sound mixer preferably one with sliding controls. 2) Get yourself a decent microphone (if you haven't already got one) 3) Route the mixer output into the Line In (Blue) Socket on the back of your PC. 4) Get encoding software such as Altacast standalone to pick the sound up from either: 4a: The stereo mix of your Sound card. 4b: The Line in (tick box) setting in Virtual Audio cables. 5) Start testing your voice settings. If all has gone to plan you should be able to hear your voice over your stream through your mixer controls. It really isn't that difficult to do. I've been using method 4b quite successfully for sometime now. If stereo mix isn't enabled on your soundcard there are fixes out there for it if you Google hard enough.... I Hope this helps some people.
  10. CHANGES: - Added shuffle option to the main playlist (Slot mode only!) [NEW]; - Improved auto update meta data for internet streams and podcast (Insert [AUTO] on track comment to enable it.) [NEW]; - Improved right click select on track lists [NEW]; - Added option to drag & drop history list entries [NEW]; - Improved tag sync function. - Minor bug fixes. TO UPDATE FROM THE LATEST VERSION v1.7.1: METHOD 1 1. Replace ALL .dll files with the new ones; 2. Replace RadioDJ.exe with the new one; 3. Replace PluginInterface.dll with the new one; 4. Add "settings_artists.txt" to the RadioDJ folder. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON'T SKIP ANY FILE AT STEP 1! METHOD 2 1. Customize the settings for the program/plugins; NO DATABASE CHANGES ARE REQUIRED! http://www.radiodj.ro/download
  11. That seems to have done the trick. Files are now playing in the decks as they should. Just seem to have some mystery error stopping the encoders from connecting now and can't see anything of any value in the error logs.
  12. I just put a Music folder into music imported it and bang it's still skipping through tracks and refusing to play anything. It's ceratinly causing some head scratching that's for sure. One other thing I noticed when trying to set the samplerate on an encoder it doesn't remember the settings of that either. I was trying to set it at 96 mp3 with a sample rate of 22050. Then the encoder doesn't want to start up and yes i have placed all the correct encoders into the folders.
  13. Switching to the 64bit box didn't solve the issue either. it's got me totally stumped as to why it's refusing to play songs. It's frustrating when it doesn't want to play nicely.
  14. Windows 7 32bit Using music off a mapped drive E:\Music All .NET components up to date so that's not the issue. I've done the same with Lunarcaster as I've done with RadioDj installed onto the C:\ drive outside the main program folders. Think i've narrowed it down it says this in the error.txt file. It's not finding the Mic input for some strange reason. I will fire up my 64bit Windows 7 box and see what results I get there.
  15. No I imported a fresh folder of music I found it strange as to why it was refusing to play any of the songs as well. The folders I'm trying to play the music from are the exact same ones I use with RadioDJ so i'm rather confused as to why it isn't playing the .mp3 files. Even setting Lunarcaster to use the virtual audio cables rather than speakers doesn't even seem to make a difference either it just keeps skipping through them.
