    cut the middle men out

Middle men! There is a complete industry, involving thousands, maybe tens of thousands of so called "middle men" involved. That is why the cost is both prohibitive and ridiculous!
Greed is a very big problem with the world in 2012- there needs to be a middle ground found. Then everyone wins. At the moment, no-one does!

Make it affordable, drop these robbing public play / performance licenses for playing a tape or radio in a shop or pub or garage or whatever!
When taxes/collections are fair, everyone pays- when they are obviously not fair, you end up collecting bugga all!
