The Case for a Level Playing Field Regarding Royalties

One of the better articles on this subject lately. Interesting and well written. The title of the article is:

    Digital Music Broadcast Royalties:
The Case for a Level Playing Field

    http://www.brookings.edu/~/media/research/files/papers/2012/8/07 music royalties technology villasenor/cti_19_villasenor.pdf

As an update to the above article, the RAIN newsletter today has an article about Brookings attempt to level the playing field:

Very interesting indeed. Quite a long read, but well worth it. I can only hope that small webcasters' rates will decrease over time, and that regular AM/FM's agreement will cease to be exempt from royalty rates. Level the playing field in 2012 going forward!
