I am shopping for a powerful dedicated server that can handle up to several tens of thousands of listeners without having to worry about buffering and bandwidth, which company would you recommend? I plan on purchasing the centova license full payment once and for all, the less burden the better.

For several tens of thousands of listeners, you will want many dedicated servers clustered. I'd look for a collocation center personally. Choopa.com, LiquidWeb, SoftLayer are all good hosts I've used.

We can get you a 1 Gig link istead of a 100 meg link, which will allow you 7,280 concurrent listeners at 128k. That way you need only 1 server, unless you want many thousands of listeners.

Try OVH or online.net - I have servers from both companies and they will have something to meet your needs..

I think you need a dedicated server with a strong bandwidth that allows for bursts in case you encounter spikes. When buying the dedicated server, look for providers that offer you the internet bandwidth calculated at 95% ( which means you only pay for the speed that your server used for 95% of the time, meaning if you encounter spikes that go over the bandwidth speed you bought, they are not charged). Also if I were you I would look for a private dedicated cloud that allows you to scale your solution in case you experience sudden growth. Good luck.

A sufficiently powerful server is straightforward, and available from many providers - but the bandwidth/transfer is less-so... 'Several tens of thousands of listeners' requires a 10Gbps port (which should be able to comfortably serve 50k concurrent users), and (as previously mentioned by another) preferably with several load-balanced (rather than a single) servers.Many providers aren't setup for this, and some who are prefer clients who'll use less than their advertised allocation.Also, small print T&C often doesn't align with the headlines, and it's easy to find that you're not getting what you expect... a port speed may be a max rather than 'always', and bandwidth may be capped (and subject to additional charges which can range from $1-20+ per TB).To the existing suggestions, I'll add 100tb.com and 10gbps.io.Be sure to clarify with a provider what exactly you'll be getting.If your listeners are geographically diverse, it's worth considering using a series of independent servers - each of which is geographically nearer to your users than a single global server.

A 10 Gig port can handle 70,000 plus concurrent listeners at 128 kbps 24 / 7.

Not very easy to get a 10 Gig port and if you do it, probably won't be unlimited, but capped.

But I really don't know many stations that get 50,000+ listeners.

Thanks everyone for your answers, I have been looking at all the links and websites of providers and found the prices absolutely ridiculous, with some having plans for 750$/month, I am not renting a house, I am renting a stupid server that takes about 50 com rack.
Anyway, my new approach now is to buy one and settle it myself, at some point those stupid providers will understand thry have to make sense before they go out of business.

$750 is low for server/port speed/traffic of the required capacity.'Buy one' won't be a fix - the major element of cost is likely to be traffic.As has been suggested, that level of traffic is rare - and unlikely to happen initially.With that in mind,, it'll be wise to start small and progressively increase capacity as demand requires.The earlier suggestion (from shoutcaststreaming)... '1 Gig link, which will allow you 7,280 concurrent listeners' is a relatively inexpensive way to begin... with an appropriately high port speed, and bandwidth limited to (if my math is correct) the equivalent of 700 slots to be listened to 'all day, every day'). And an option, to enable 7000 listeners 'all day, every day' for an additional $450.

saying that buying one wont buying a fix ios like telling someomne that buying a house wont fix his rent. So let's look at it this way, traffic and bandwidth all of those parameters are controlled by either services or machines you can buy, and I am pretty sure those companies themsleves actually are either third or even fourth party providers to practice such high prices.
As for working it up, again no body bad surprises so you have a decent planning because if you end up with an invocie 10 times what was expected , you're dead., plus seeing how greedy these comanies are it wouldmt surprise me if they actually fake your traffic results so they can blow up your $$ to pay.
