    Finally on Twitter

    Hey All

Man I finally got on Twitter and was shocked to learn that some guys in Italy started a radio station this year using our stations name iWebRadio! This sucks...iWebRadio.fm is not affiliated with us in any way, shape or form. Our station has been online over 4 years and was on Live365 a year before that. This sucks that some lame wannabe's have to rip us off!

    Anyway...twitter us at twitter.com/The_iWebRadio

Yeah I saw that, i've been The MADcHATTER since August of 1990 on IRC. Shame that people cant be original when thinking up a name! lol Owell, I'm already going after some italians who just put up a page this year for iWebRadio.fm. We'll see what haps there!

Ive seen another station recently that has had someone call a new station a very similar name and I must say its slightly worrying and hope it there is not a trend starting to happen.

Yes its un-original to do so, and most likely has been done for strategic reasons to gain more listeners.

What makes this worse is that from the research ive done in the uk at least it costs around 600 to trademark the name which is large sum of cash for anyone. Even then its a bit flakey as to whether a 'similar' name is something you can do anything about.

You may be in the fortunate (??) position that the name is exactly the same and only the domain extension different, which if you owned the trademark then you may have a case to force them to change but who knows

Sorry to hear about the problem with the names, guys.

I know someone just about to release a CD and I know there are names out there that are similar to his label name.

Has anybody registered or copyrighted their name? Even so, if somebody on the other side of the planet infringes on it, I assume it would still be a major pain to go after them?
