Ok Guys... here is the demo

First part is with my old Samson 3cpo (hehe), via usb connection... The second is with my new mic, (Harlan Hogan), via an m-box connection, recorded on protools 8.1 (now if I can actually figure out how to edit properly in that I will be sweet!

    So...what do you guys think?

I am very excited about the difference myself.. wow!
I think it is richer, fuller... and more rounded... less tinny sounding.

Yeap the new mike makes your voice sound fuller, the only problem I hear is that it makes your p's more pronounced, you may have to watch that.

Thanks for the input guys... I love the richness of the sound. What a difference!

Yeah you are right about the P's johny, I am aware of it, however... I rushed the recording cause I just wanted to hear the sound, and I am still working on correct placement etc

Oh, what an amazing difference! That's an amazing mic I have to say. Samson sounds thinner than your new mic. In the second clip you sound more full in the lower frequencies and the clarity is much improved. Top end isn't harsh, it's pretty good! Also the background noise isn't so big anymore. Samson captured it little bit IMO.

    Enjoy your mic M! :biggrinthumb:

Yeah a huge difference Joonas. I am really pleased with it.... and it was a very reasonable price...

    http://voiceoveressentials.com/VO-1A...B002SMYUFY.htm

I have my mic in a portable whisper booth in hubby's ex-closet and you are right. The samson still picked up a lot of noise that this one cuts out.

The only issue with this one, that I can see.... is what Johny pointed out.. the 'p's. Even with a pop screen in front it still picks them up... So I am experimenting with side placement today see if that makes a difference.

And of course, there is the getting used to using headphones. I have never used them before, except when I was recording in the recording studio for the diabetes ad.

Very exciting, and it was all paid for from money I earned from the above ad... we couldn't afford it otherwise. :D

PS... is that a new pic Joonas?

    Hey M,

Try and angle your mic either towards ->/ or >\ away from you and maybe try talking over it or below it to reduce the popping Just an idea that might work for you

Morning Frank... ah a man after my own heart... I was going to play around with the mic angling today. Talking below it.. now that is an idea!

Let me have a fiddle with it when hubby wakes up (Chemo makes him very tired), and I will upload some done different ways... perhaps you guys would be so kind as to tell me which works best? I value all your opinions!

    Cheers
    M.
