    Ppluk & Prs

    Hey,
How much does licence normally cost for both licences?

I was looking at PPLUK and I came to a total of 200 and as for PRS I haven't a clue how the licensing works, I was told by previous radio's that the PRS licence was allot cheaper. That's what I thought until I checked out their website and its really expensive.

P.S Its for an online radio broadcasting licence.

Thanks man but I already have a radio. I think the PPLUK Licening fee is pretty clear to myself now, the only problem is the PRS for music, does anyone have any idea how much it costs and is it legally needed?

The PRS licence i think you require for your internet radio will be the "Limited Online Music Licence" or LOML for short.
It currently costs 107 + VAT and is for Internet radio stations that earn less than 12.500 PA.

When i enquired about both the PRS and PPL licences, the joint licence costs would have been about 700 PA.
Also PPL and PRS require that you submit a full playlist of all music used every three months.
As this is strictly a hobby (one of many), i decided that i would see how the station develops before laying out that kind of cash and commitment.
For now i only play music from artist that provide me with copyright written clearence for each track/album submitted.

    Hope this of help.
