THREETEN RADIO
I have been dealing with 180-hosting and can fully recommend them, great service from them. They have just changed suppliers for shoutcast so there are teething issues that are being sorted and I am testing a server for them. Try them now: 180-hosting.com
aaronsnet
Sounds way to good to be true. I would be a bit skeptical of a deal like this.
THREETEN RADIO
I see your point and i used to think the same. However I know how the reseller part works and it can be done this cheap. I would not recommend any service that was flawed or bound to fail. Everyone has to weigh up their own options and decide what's best. I have just purchased a reseller account for 1 month to try a service and have created a few accounts as relays. If anyone wants to try a stream for a month only at this time, for FREE, send me a PM, no auto DJ but you can have 100 slots and any bitrate up to 320kbps. This will only be for approx 28 days and you can advise on how reliable it has been also before I commit to extending keeping this plan. Who says nothing is FREE? :biggrinthumb:

THREETEN RADIO
the ebay one im a bit worried about. do many people buy from ebay when they want shoutcast servers?Quite possibly, I have seen a lot on there that are classified ads meaning they advertise on ebay but you have to buy from them direct. There are others that are new users who provide service only bought through ebay. I suppose everyone has to start somewhere so why not ebay? Always pay via PayPal so then you got a chance of your money back should the "host" fail to deliver.
aaronsnet
Come on folks...hosting providers that sell on ebay OVERSELL their slots. Do you really think that you will be able to load their servers up with 999 listeners at 320kbps? I bet they will start buffering at 10! This company offers no phone number and only had their domain registered since June 2008. This is like buying one of those phone cards that promise thousands of minutes, but result in getting maybe a few of the minutes actually promised because of what does not meet the eye. Please, take the time to find a reputable hosting provider. A good place to start is http://www.radiotoolbox.com/ ... you can actually see the server performance of many shoutcast hosting providers before you purchase. I have done this type of thing when I first started broadcasting. I signed up for providers that were way to good to be true, just to find begin having constant buffering and no answer from their tech support. You get what you pay for my friends. James
Totally agree, go with what is trusted and what you KNOW is best.. I wouldnt recommend ebay.. not the first place id go to find a shoutcast server in my opinion! THREETEN RADIO
On the other hand, some on ebay (UK) are actually well known hosts using ebay as an advertising outlet. Others are probably resellers.
BWorld
I know for a fact Stream101 uses ebay to advertise, but you can't purchase from there unless you visit their website. This allows them to be able to browse the actual homesite before making a purchase. Ebay is just used for advertising purposes. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? You'll go for months, possible a year with never having a problem then it will turn horrible for a while and get better again. Goes up and down like crazy. My best luck to you though. I have a few friends who are getting really good service so hopefully it will stay like that for you.

DirtySouthRadio
well as of today i was cut odd by 180 hosting due to them over selling slots and i was using to much bandwidth i told the guy be4 i signed up i have a hi vol station and he said it would be fine i could max out all 999 slots lol in my mind i new this was a deal to good to be tru so let me try it out i aint lose anything but time these guys would be good for small stations but if u got more then 500 listeners don't even waste your time with them is not worth u will lose money well if u call 6.00 a month losing money the guy gave me some crap that the CPU on the sever was to hi then when i ask him to get when i was the sever going to be fixed and when am i going to be put back on he told me that im not at this point im kinda like why not then then i said well just set me up with my own sever over at ovh cause they so cheep i might as well just go threw him to get the sever then he would not answer me and forwards me to another guy where he get his severs from witch he get his sever from http://www.ovh.com i told i want to get a sever from ovh and he told me know man there some haters out here
THREETEN RADIO
That is a shame, it's a case of a reseller being promised things and then not getting them. 180hosting is a reseller for shoutcast and would have been told he could have all what you were told, it seems like you have lost out and he probably has also. It would appear that you may need a dedicated server due to the high volume of listeners you get.

aaronsnet
ive had 5 dedicated server all from difrent company and they all tell me the same song and dance sorry we have cut u or we got to charge u more Perhaps it is time to look at a provider that isn't going to provide you with 1,000 for $6 a month. Obviously these providers aren't going to be able to provide you with that for that little amount of money.
