I've not actually heard of them. I'm assuming you wont be able to stream after you hit the bandwidth limit, or it kind of defeats the point of it.

If anyone wants help, I know a good Company you can actually get unmetered traffic dedis from for £10 a month.... but you have to set it all up yourself

I would be VERY skeptical of this. Explain to me how a company could make money by leasing out a $1000+ server plus the cost of bandwidth for $~15/month?

Because they can, trust me, I have tested them intensely.

The own about 10 datacenters and are one of the biggest Companies in the world.

I won't be sharing any information with providers though, unfortunately.

Wow, who does this sound like ?

The worst Data Centers in the world, one in France and one in Chicago charge more than 10 quid.

LOL! Thank goodness that they are finally gone! Now there is no more childish bullying when trying to post to these forums!

These are the streaming companies that we trialed before settling with our current stream host provider, Shoutcheap.

- Wavestreaming - These guys do not have the up-time that they claim in their ads. When I complained about it, they were quite rude and very unhelpful. Not to mention that they were charging inflated prices for their services. They would also restart servers a few times in a week with no change control and then would try to blame it on my internet connection. They seemed to be quite full of themselves.

- Make-A-Voice - We used these guys for quite a while due to the fact that they were the cheapest. However, they kept changing the IP address of my server as well as performing maintenance and restarting my server without change control, usually right in the middle of our peak hours. Also, their Port 80 streaming was not so hot as there was apparently a bug that caused mobile streams over port 80 to hang onto the slot for days at a time, even though no one was listening. Originally we thought that our stats had gone stellar, but in the end, this was the issue. They were happy to sell me a 200 slot server, before finally confessing that the Port 80 bug was the issue. My dealings with their support were pretty abyssmal when dealing with "Mike" but the other guy who seemed a bit more friendly would usually sort things out, but only after "Mike" made an arse of himself. After about a year, we ended up leaving due to their attitude towards our station's up-time. Their DNAS stats web interface was pretty wonky and looked like a 12 year old in the 90s developed it.

- ViaStreaming - This is a perfect example that a nice website does not equal professionalism. They keep offering special deals after you had already signed up for another plan at a much higher price and when I would complain they would offer me the deal, but only on a new server with another IP address. They also offered a "free" Android app to all new customers, but I never received mine and they were a bit dodgy about the reasons why. (When they saw that I had moved my streams off of their servers, they were quick to offer the free Android app, but too late.) Port 80 did not allow for tracking of the listener via their IP address, it would just show up as "Unknown". Due to the fact that Shoutcast only reports your "unique" connections, this ended up becoming an issue in the news! The drama & fallout that happened ended up with our being "banned from Wikipedia!" Their customer service was quick to place blame on the customer and they would never take responsibility for anything. Not so reasonably priced, but due to their website I was under the impression that they were a much bigger and professional company. Plus the ports that they originally gave me were blocked by most firewalls due to their popularity with trojan vulnerabilities.

- Azoto Streaming Solutions - this was a complete disaster. They had great prices, but all of the support emails were in Italian and I had to use Google Translate to communicate with them. Also, they charged me for my subscription, but it was days before I actually got access to my server. I moved to Shoutcheap and was up and running by the time I finally got access to my server.

- ShoutCheap - Very reasonably priced. Great customer service. There have been a couple of issues a few months ago, but they quickly resolved the issue and were very happy to serve their customer. I like the CentovaCast GUI and port 80 is not a Centova proxy, but an actual separate IP address. We just celebrated a year with this company and would gladly stay with them for the foreseeable future. Plus when we needed extra slots due to a increased number of listeners when we were featured on Windows Media Player, every thing was sorted in less than an hour!

There were a couple of amateurs that we tested early on, but I cannot find the emails of when we were their customer.

True, I knew him and I'm positive that they went out of business a few years ago. They are now called SLABLE but looks like they don't do Stream Hosting.
