How old were you when you knew your future was radio?

Recommended Posts

Ever since my mom bought me a childrens ON AIR radio station that broadcasted on 1610am 100 feet away...I would do a radio show for my parents and next door neighbor. It was then that my dream of becoming a DJ started. Now at age 17...I am going to the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland (http://www.bim.org). They accept 50 students a semester. There was a total of 900 applications and I got accepted. So, thats when i truly knew thats where my life was heading!

I would say about 10 years old as I used to toy with low powered AM transmitters and DJ'd a couple hours a day, just for grins. I eventually went into commercial radio at 19; did 5 years in a country format, and came back to radio two years ago, putting up an Internet station after becomming disabled. In between was over a twenty year gap. Looking back, I think I should have stuck with radio instead of drifting away from it. It's too much fun!
