SAM Broadcaster posessed?

Recommended Posts

After anything between 1 and 5 days, SAM BC goes totally crazy for me- plays the same song about three or four times in a single hour. The next hour will do the same with a different song? The only thing sorts it out, is to reset the Weight balance in the playlist?

BTW:The format is controlled by a pal script that plays certain categories at preset times each hour (you know the clockwheel type thing), this repeats every hour- 24 hours a day.

I have the playlist rotation set to not repeat any song/track for 400 mins, but this has no effect????

My SAM is truly posessed

I'm stumped.

If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net

Thank You!

It might be that your indexes in the mySQL data base got messed up somehow.

I would try to rebuild the pointers .. try this:

1) Log out of SAM.

2) from a DOS prompt enter:

net stop mysql

c:/mysql/bin/myisamchk -r -f c:/mysql/data/samdb/*.myi

net start mysql

3) Restart SAM

if your mysql is not installed on c: then adjust accordingly.

My keyboard became possessed this morning, I could not type as weird things were happening and when I used the scroll wheel on the mouse the page text got bigger or smaller! I chucked it out and put my old wireless one back in service. It took me 20 minutes to reply to a post on here after all that! Maybe not relevant but amusing nevertheless.

I'm using the Firebird database.... perhaps that is the reason?

Perhaps. This is not the correct forum for Firebird questions. I'm sure 99% of the SAM people here use mySQL.

You might be better to post this on the Spacial Audio forums.

I use FireBird on my SAMDJ machine, but haven't had to fix the database, and I hope I never do. It's not as easy as mySQL.
