SpazzRadio
Not sure if this is the right place for this. Feel free to move it if not. I wonder if we could put together an Ad campaign to promote advertising on Internet Radio Stations. I heard an ad on my local station today promoting Radio Advertising over Newspaper Advertising. I would like to have something similar put together for Internet Radio stations. Maybe we can all put our heads together and come up with some ideas for the script and then make it available for us all to use. Sort of in the Spirit of a PSA. The script would have to list some of the benefits of Internet Radio Advertising and why it is better then some other types of advertising. James
I hear the same thing. That sounds like an excellent idea. Im happy to create a campaign on broadcastingworld so we can say something like "Benefits of advertising on internet radio yadayada.. for more info visit www.broadcastingworld.net" Not trying to make this an ad for us but you need some sort of website explaining it, not just in an ad. jkemr
Brill idea but i dont think you would need a site to visit for info.. if you made a random sweeper saying why it would benefit you to advertise on internet radio...Not trying to be funny but say like pepole do visit here OK NP..But they might hear the add on one station and take up the add with another..The idea is to make the station money. If you get what i am trying to say here ?? thanks JK
James
Well.. i could buy a domain and we could make a site for it? You do need a site, the aussie ones are funny and well presened. It made me log onto their website. Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content
jkemr
OK so we talking about like linking to this or as a sweeper ? IE on our site we would but like benefits of internet radio advertising and link the site?? One thing we could say is >> The potential geographic reach and content categories offered by internet radio far exceeds traditional radio, which is limited by region and station format. James
I know the exact ad your talking about. So should we register a domain or should we reduce BW's spending and go for something like ira.broadcastingworld.net ? SpazzRadio
I think a sub-domain would be fine. If we do a whole package: Spots, banner ads, website. I would think it should be a place to not only promote Internet radio advertising, but to perhaps facilitate advertisers and Stations getting together. Perhaps some sort of contact listing or something along those lines. James
The page wont look anything like broadcastingworld. It will just have a link to broadcastingworld in the sponsors section that will be somewhere like the bottom of the page. Im not really wanting to fork out of my own money when im spending quite alot into this site alone. James
Strengths of Internet Radio: * Radio reaches virtually everyone in many environments – at home, in the office or even in the car! No matter where people are, internet radio is accessable. * People carry out a range of activities while simultaneously listening to internet radio. * Internet radio allows messages to be tailored and localised to each audience. There are millions of stations with more specific genres than commercial radio which makes your advertising campaign up to 80% more efficient. * Consistent all year round – internet radio does not have a noticeable summer audience decline. * Urgent, immediate and flexible – internet radio commercials can be created quickly with over 1000 voices around the internet ready to record your ad. * Strong call-to-action – internet radio commercials can be selectively scheduled by day-part and weekday, enabling messages to be delivered close to purchase. Listeners can act on an advertisers message and participate in station competitions. * Internet radio ads are cheaper than commercial radio advertising. It reaches more people in a larger area globally and is great for businesses trying to expand globally and reach further. Also.. MADcHATTER made a good post but deleted it. He stated that internet radio advertising is cheap and cost effective. Which it is Here are a few Australian ad campaigns that i hear of.. http://www.commercialradio.com.au/index.cfm?page_id=1039 I think just having the ads avaliable and stating "Contact Your Favourite Internet Radio Station For More Info..." could work easily. qmr
I think this is an excellent idea, Maybe on this new site advertisers could pay to have their ads played on a variety of BW affiliate stations.

James
We have been discussing this but we cannot monitor stations to see if they will play the ads or not. You dont wanna pay $100 for a spot and find that your ad doesnt play. If anyone can think of a system that people can buy/swap ads and make it so people will actually do it, please post in here Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content

jkemr
How about stations bid for ads? if you list what type of ad how long how much they would pay so on then let stations bid for the ad?? That way you make money to help along with website and stuff and the stations still make money from the ad everyone a winner plus if they paid for it they would play it to make money back. Could have like 3 days to get your bid in
James
I can do that and make that. BUT how can we make it so the ad actually gets PLAYED? We need some sort of system otherwise we have some scammers afoot. jkemr
Dont know of anyway you can monitor stations to make sure they play the ads.. The only way you could do it and will take up alot of time is give a time the ad as to be played then you could spot check stations now and then without them knowing Anyone found not to be following the rules wont be able to bid for ads nomore thats the only way i can think of..Plus would be cool to set up like a PAL. file for sam to auto kick in the ads ..Thanks JK
