James
Have you ever had a bad experience or bad presenter that you have had to cut from your station? Try not to mention names but explain what happened! There can be some crazy idiots out there that want to get spam/crap over the airwaves and they will do it. :Z: Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content

WayneOwens
I've had to fire my fair share of them. Two of them that I had to fire, one was a professional voiceover talent that wanted a shot on the internet side of things and one worked for 99.9 KISS Country, and Darren knows him quite well, as his name was brought up in another topic, they wanted a total of get this $16,000 a year to work for the station, and I pretty much had to tell them to fuck off. I gave them the day off before they "quit", but in all honesty they were fired when I gave them the day off. So yeah when money is involved, don't get me wrong, I'm not a stickler, but when you ask for a sum of money that big, that I don't have and won't have, I can't keep you. They really thought they were all that when they weren't.
wildun
Looks like I'm about to experience this very thing. I've never fired a DJ but now seems I have to fire two. One I was warned about ( you know who you are) lol.. the other is a friend of that one. After 2 weeks of not showing up for scheduled shows I think I am warranted in saying "Your'e Fired"! Worse thing you can have is dead silence on a station and since I have everything auto I caught it. No more.
SpazzRadio
I just had to last week. It was a matter of them badmouthing me on another site. I told the other DJ's that bad mouthing me on the air was ok (classic radio bit), but doing it on another site behind my back is no good. God I hate internet drama. :D SpazzRadio.com Home of Absolute Rockz, Absolute Spazz, Always HOT Country, and Absolute Hitz
WayneOwens
Hey Wildun, I know how it feels to have dead air, and to be honest, I've had it happen a couple times to me, and it was my APD that did it to me, his laptop is crappy and it cuts off, and makes for hell when I let him on that air, so what I told him was to VoiceTRAC it in my system so there's no probs, but wonderfully enough he hasn't even put in a VT for the weekends, so really as long as there's music I'm happy, I mean he's a great APD, he does a lot to help us, but he needs to get a new laptop

Blazin 97
one worked for 99.9 KISS Country, and Darren knows him quite well, as his name was brought up in another topic, they wanted a total of get this $16,000 a year to work for the station, and I pretty much had to tell them to fuck off. Oh yeah from the 'Start Up A Station In The USA' forum and pirate radio ! I have had to fire two deejays. One prettymuch fell off the face of the earth, he emailed me saying how he wanted a show on my station so badly, emailed me his shows for a few weeks, but then fell off the face of the earth, stopped replying to my emails and stopped sending me his shows so I sent an email saying if he didnt reply he wouldnt be welcome back at my station but still didnt reply so I had to fire him. The other one wanted money and I told him my station was low budget and I couldnt do that, so he quit.
WayneOwens
Well I tell ya what, When that jerkoff asked me for money, I'll be honest, I almost had a nervous breakdown after reviewing the budget. If it hadn't of been for my sales mangers being right there with me looking it over, I may have shut the whole operation down....but they stopped that from happening
IamPaulie
About to fire one right now. He bashed the GM and his show on air, and he also called the listeners "retarded". Oh yeah, can't have someone like that around. He's gone.

MADcHATTER
Even though we're basically a "Hobby" station with no pay for our DJ's, We have basic rules in place and violation of them warrants dismissal. I have had to fire a few DJ's for violating them. In particular Abusive or Racist remarks made on the air or in the chatroom. For this I have had to fire DJ's, guys I considered friends. One other I had no choice in was one DJ showing up on air so drunk he could barely be understood. He became abusive to every woman in our chatroom and verbally abusive of the other Dj's. Me included. Now i'm a big guy and can take the tongue lashings of a useless drunk...I used to be one! But when the guy started to attack the women for his own shortcommings in being able to find "A Date" then I had no choice! lol. We dont edit or censor the music, we dont hold back on things we want to say and I myself have used language that would make a trucker yell "HEY! Watch your mouth, we got Mechanics in here!". The only things we abhor is being abusive to the listeners or any group, racists statements or promoting anything illegal (IE: We actually had a DJ tell people how and where to get illegal prescription narcotic drugs from Mexico and provided a website!). That being said, pretty much anything goes! MADcHATTER
