Century are REAL winners

Its finally an end of an era for radio.

One of the industrys most iconic and heritiged brands- century radio- is to be renamed Real Radio next April.

 

The two stations in the NW and NE have been operating under the Real brand, and were Real in all but name.

However, GMG Radio have felt that it was appropriate for the stations to be renamed for the sake of advertising.

 

 

I for one an distraught in a way, that Century is leaving us....however I'm excited for the the future of Century 105.4 as I believe it could overtake Real Scotland as GMG radio's most listened to radio station in 2009

Are these stations at the UK ?

this question because I'm not that familiar with UK based stations .. sorry

I assume those stations are already aired since years or decades ?

Century and Real Radio are a british radio network that have an adult contemporary format.

Basically they play current hits but also like to focus a lot on playing 80s tunes.

They are owned by the third largest radio group in the country, GMG Radio(gmgradio.com) and are well known for their strapline,"Music you just have to sing along to".

 

The first real/century station opened in 1994 in Newcastle...and have since former sister stations in South Wales, North West England, Scotland and Yorkshire

So it looks to Me as an important and major take-over in benefit of the GMG group
