James
As the title says, do you prefer sung or spoken jingles? I prefer spoken because you can have more fun, you can do a very short comedy sketch as a jingle and people love it. I dont hear much about sung jingles these days, maybe in community radio. JDAlexi
I prefer both, mix it up abit...But If I had to pick one, spoken....Cheaper and easier.
CurtisMachek
I am for the sung stuff as long as it's not overused. There's a local station who plays a sung jingle every 2 or 3 songs, which is overdone. A sung jingle at the toip of the hour, and when heading back into music from ads is great, but not too much. -Curtis
Ricardo
I've heard some great spoken ads and also some fine musical jingles with singing. I don't think I prefer one format over the other, but I really appreciate the funny ones. In Toronto, there's been a very catchy and memorable jingle for Pizza Pizza with lyrics "nine six seven, eleven, eleven" to a simple melody. It's been on the air for I'd say at least three decades. It's great. Somehow I never get sick of it.
