Hello, I'm Learning Fast

Recommended Posts

I'm a mother of lots of boys, 9 to 28.

I've been reading and learning fast, so I decided to join and ask some questions. We have a family project in mind that includes 'casting.

I'm a retired Academic and I used to do Voiceovers back, years ago, when I was in college. It was actually a nice source of extra money when I was a Grad student. Of course, now I don't sound like a teenager like I did back then. :P

So far, I think I get optimistic, then I get a little overwhelmed.

But, hey . . . if I figure if I could figure out how to program an Onyx . . . I can figure out anything.

I know to just keep reading until things start to make sense, then ask questions, and try things. It sure is fun though.

I've always thought that learning what people have done and how they've shaped their worlds and our present is so fascinating. I try to brint THAT to the classroom.

Of course . . . sometimes non-participants hear snippets and think I'm off my bean. I had students get into a big discussion on kissing and holding hands. So I brought in some students and faculty from different areas of the world and we had an extra enrichment lecture on "courting, love, and sex around the world." Four hundred people showed up and they talked for almost 4 hours. I thought it was great . . . head of the department thought it was twaddle.

:welcome2bw:

and enjoy BW

One thing is for sure .. a retired Academic who is using a nick such as Tech Mom .. thats what students like (Y)

and I'm sure We gonna like that also at BW :)
