JBVoice
My story is actually kind of funny. When it comes to radio, I have always been interested it it. The one person who truly inspired me was DJ Rick Adams who is best known for his radio show on Radio KOL (AOL Kids Online Radio) back when I was fairly young. He had millions of listeners. After that ended (about 3 years ago) I found myself applying for broadcasting schools. Finally, Now...I am enrolled in one of the east coast US respected schools out there! I owe all my thanks to Rick! Now, voice overs...my true inspiration is Don Lonfontaine (Spelling?) not much to say there...lol Whats your story? I'm interested in knowing Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. The rest have big screen TVs. - Jim Rohn"
Norwood Radio
Hi, my love for radio stems back to listening into radio Luxemburg many years ago, to many to think about... anyway I eventually found myself doing the rounds as a mobile Dj covering weddings / birthdays etc. When all that sadly came to an end I needed a replacement so I went into hospital radio 20 years ago and never looked back. Now having accomplished internet radio and community radio and now running my own station. Harry
Bizzacore
I have to admit it, even though I pretty much can't stand the guy anymore, it's Howard Stern. I've always been a fan of that push the envelope raunchy humor. My mom hates it, and couldn't stand when I listened to him.. but he was my inspiration back before I got out of high school. More and more though, I leaned towards Opie and Anthony when they came on here in NY on 102.7 cause they just seemed more real to me, and Howard was moving to his "larger than life" persona and that was just like meh to me. I didn't take well to it.
JBVoice
I agree, I was a fan of Howerd Stern as well (LOL) but he now gives broadcasters a bad name (says my broadcasting instructor). But, yeah...thanks for sharing -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. The rest have big screen TVs. - Jim Rohn"
Arfa B
I Was totally and UTTERLY inspired by the GREAT RNI- Radio Northsea International and the other Offshore stations up to the Dutch Marine Offences Act came in to effect in 1974. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_North_Sea_International When I was about ohhh 11 years old, I went on the March to Hyde park and trafalger Square in 1970! Yep, I started young. There was NEVER EVER a dull moment!!! And, I was lucky enough to have worked on the proper Radio Caroline in the 80's at sea!!! If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net Thank You! Jinglemaster
I will be blazed down in fire for this, but believe it or not Terry Wogan! I remember hearing him on radio 2 in the late 1960's and he is still there, in the same slot to this day. Having said that, the utter genius that was Kenny Everett is truly insipring. I eventually stumbled into radio myself around 1984 when a friend suggested I went along to Hospital radio with him. I never looked back.
