My new mixer just arrived. It is only a baby, but is actually very good indeed. It is a TAPCO MIX260FX (Made by mackie) and has the following basic spec:

4 x mono channel (XLR or 1/4" jack)

4 x stereo channel (1/4" jack)

sub mixer

4 band eq on all channels

2 x aux sends per channel

mute

main mix

sub mix

solo and PFL

60mm faders

very good on board digital effects, around 260 effects

Multiple outputs including balance XLR as well as 1/4" jacks

I bought this to replace my aging Behringer 1604.

My only gripe? YELLOW sides!!!!!:retard: What nutter came up with that odea?

Anyway, we'll see what the output is like in a few days when my cold goes AGAIN.

Definitely a good buy there, Fin. It isn't the size that counts it's what you do with it that does. :P

I pulled this picture from Google, Nick. I think this is the one fin bought.

The designer who wanted to insure that this would never be confused with any other brand of mixer EVER. It will stand out amongst the silver, black and grey items.

At least they aren't wrapped in wood-grained contact paper....though I'm sure that's coming.

Hey Jingle,

Thought of you last week on a live announce gig.

I had to patch into an existing sound system at an outdoor event, From a distance, I saw the console had these bright yellow sides. I said to the sound tech, "I see you have a Tapco" to which he instantly replied: "I've been meaning to cover the sides with gaff tape"

I am still cracking up over this one.
