NickolasM.
I tried connecting to my shoutcat server with SAM today, All the ports are opened, Im running the server and SAM on the same comp. So I use localhost for the IP in SAM, I keep getting: Disconnected(10054) after encoding for a minute, on the DNS webpage It says server down all the time now, but if I look at song history it shows the right songs and whats currently playing, And Ideas on what is wrong? And hello to all again, its been awhile from when I posted last. Thanks ahead of time.
Blazin 97
Hmmm... maybe an unreliable internet connection???
GKIye
Hi Nickolas, Do you use a sc_serv ? You need that one if you are not using any 3rd party streamprovider The sc_serv makes it possible to stream on the internet and makes from your pc a server Connections are limited, depends on your connection, speed etc etc More details and download you'll find at this link : http://www.shoutcast.com/download#13 Using localhost isn't the best solution ... use your IP of your pc + port Not sure about your IP ? .. visit this link : http://www.whatismyip.com/ Good luck ! So I use localhost for the IP in SAM, I keep getting: Disconnected(10054) Visit and listen @ BW !

CyberFM
in the TCP world, 10054 is a "Socket Timeout" and since its localhost, see if you have a local firewall running.
GKIye
Thats right ! in the TCP world, 10054 is a "Socket Timeout" and since its localhost, see if you have a local firewall running. However by using Local Host no other people can login to your stream because it can't be found by the listener For that reason I mentioned into my earlier reply to Nickolas .. look for the IP, add a port to it and config and use the SC_SERV proxy and everything gonna work out 100% so far Nickolas has a connection who is stable and who can handle several listeners ... A home-pc used as server has its restrictions .. For that reason its better to use a stream provider .. this way Nickolas has only to config his encoder with the IP port and password given by the stream provider Visit and listen @ BW ! CyberFM
ok I was under the impression he is setting his "Encoder" to "localhost" which would be correct, his encoder is not maintaining a connection in SAM to his Shoutcast which is on the same PC. I could be wrong
Lloyd
Using localhost isn't the best solution ... use your IP of your pc + port Not sure about your IP ? .. visit this link : http://www.whatismyip.com/ that would give the external IP, not your computers IP... Or are you after the External one?

GKIye
Hi Lloyd, I'm almost sure that Nickolas needs that IP Working with the localhost + port gives no results who makes that people can login to the stream .. In other words .. the stream is only visible to the user and not to the listeners. I can't think of any other issue who should work out at this time Unless there has been made an error / fault into the config .. such as password or other A screenshot of the problems would be helpfull .. maybe Nickolas can upload one ... that would give the external IP, not your computers IP... Or are you after the External one? Visit and listen @ BW !
