Blazin 97
Any radio station automation software out there besides SAM or Zara that anyone reccomends? ***UPDATE*** I am talking online with a Spacial Audio company representative in a support ticket and he says he'll square it all away for me as long as i have proof of the purchase, which I do, so it looks like i'm all set. Still curious to learn about other software though incase something like this happens to me again.
GKIye
Didn't you made any backup of your directory "Program Files\SpacialAudio\SAMBC\" who's into "Software" ? I think it will work out if you make a backup of the original directory to an USB stick, CDrom etc ... Install the software on your new pc and copy the directory of your USB to your new SAMBC directory. In fact this way you gonna overwrite all data with data who already excisted on your old pc It looks the most easy way to do and this way your registration details gonna be back where they belong. By doing this your SAMBC.exe gonna be activated again as it was. Maybe these details where helpfull ... Visit and listen @ BW !

Blazin 97
Oh, thanks for the reccomendations! Blazin 97
I love Stationplaylist , there are a few things that could be better with it, but i'm comfortable right now. I tuned into your station for a few minutes and check out the site, good music! From the slogan I thought it would be more of a Hot AC, but then I tuned in and heard Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, all that good stuff and I'm legal thru SWcast too! nitnitr
I'm with Jason, using Station Playlist. It works quite well for me. I've used SAM in the past, but made the switch to SPL a little over a year back and don't regret it. I still have SAM as a backup if something really goes haywire. I have had very few glitches associated with SPL, so I may use SAM if I ever decide to put up another station someday.
WayneOwens
Well, here's two options. If you want sometrhing fully automated you can spend around 500 USD for PLAYER101 from RCS formerly know as Prophet Systems Innovations, or if you want to load 12 hours of music at a time get Digilink-Xtreme, either way you won't be dissapointed in the choice, I use PLAYER101, and have had great results, plus it has an export feature built in for SHOUTcast and in my opnion is a close if not further ahead competitor of SAM
riverregionmedia
Player101 is great, in fact i'm fully certified on Prophet Next gen which is what Player 101 is just a diet version of.
Blazin 97
I still have SAM as a backup if something really goes haywire. Me too, to a certain degree. I have a second copy of SAM on a PC I don't use anymore, just in case the station computer ever crashed or something really bad ever happened, like you said. From my track record, it's bound to happen
WayneOwens
You know what I loved so much about Player and NexGen, which I'm demoing NexGen Digital 2007 right now, is that it is so user friendly. A few things though that I don't understand yet, but it's been a few years since I've worked with Prophet and NG, so if I need anything I know who to turn to, maybe even a serial for instance lol... Player101 is great, in fact i'm fully certified on Prophet Next gen which is what Player 101 is just a diet version of.
Brutish Sailor
W_I_N_A_M_P for life. So many plug ins and other progs to run in live mixer mode that EAT SAM and PLAYLIST for breakfast. Maybe I'm such a big fan of it just because winamp live mixer is the open source of broadcasting. I dig it. and NO WAY Im paying spacial audio 70 bucks for a winamp plug in. they went off the deep end when they pulled that price out their pie hole. bigloo
As stated in another thread.... OTSAV is what we have been using for the last 10 years. Have tried others.... we chose OTSAV, we haven't looked back. One of the very best for radio automation, in my opinion. ________ Lou Bigloo Christian Radio http://www/biglooradio.com/ digiSTREAM SHOUTcast Hosting http://www.digistream.info/

powerfmonline
On an FM station I used to be at (due to moving) we used Myriad. It's a pretty cool software and has features that rival software like RCS plus it's cheap (compared to other big name software).
shuttle
SONICA powered by Exemode is much higher!! A very complete and reliable software! But it is only for professionals!
thehitzoneradio
I use Station Playlist, and couldn't be happier with it - it has a fairly robust scheduling tool as well, and they have a payment plan to work with you to get the best package available. Urban Hitz Radio
Sonica, you mean it's only for terrestrial stations. Professional is only a word. Most Radio personnel are not "professionals". ..LOL SAM Broadcatser here. Since 2002. Does everything I need atm. -- JE .::.(())::. Urban Hitz Radio™ USA .::.(())::. shuttle
SAM and others, absolutely can not do what SONICA does! I tested all software. For me SAM is not intuitive. But I repeat..... SONICA and all the Exemode products are not for simple WEB Radio. Are very sophisticated software! Exemode, is very useful for radios that have great need. SONICA and all the Exemode products are not for simple WEB Radio. Are very sophisticated software! Exemode, is very useful for radios that have great need. SAM is a very badly written program, Written in Visual Delphi which wasn't supposed to be used in production, Microsoft ditched it years ago in favour of C++ etc ..... Hence why versions prior to 4.9.7 won't work on Windows 8. I think when it comes to Radio Automation RadioDJ (Free Program) outstrips SAM in so many ways (works on windows 8 for starters) it look and feels more like a proper studio package and doesn't crash or whinge like SAM. Why people feel the need to part with $299 dollars for SAM is beyond me when there are so many better alternatives RadioDJ and AIRTIME just to mention two. Urban Hitz Radio
Sonica is in a different class from SAM Broadcaster That's very well known. no one stated the SAM was in direct competition with Sonica. A lot of these programs being intuitive mans that it's hand holding all the way, because people don;t know how to get thru it on their own. Sam holds no hands. You'll have to jump in and get your hands dirty, and that's what WEB RADIO is all about. Whether it is a badly written program, is relative, because everyone has their own experiences. One experience doesn't speak for everyone. Of course there are others who feed off of negative experiences and run with it, as gospel...lol -- JE .::.(())::. Urban Hitz Radio™ USA .::.(())::.
