A question about pro tools

Recommended Posts

Hey there everyone,

So... I stupidly decided to buy Pro Tools 8 LE without realizing that I had to get Digidesign hardware.

So! My question is this - is there a way to run Pro Tools 8 without a piece of hardware? Or did I just spend some $$$ for nothing... :(

First of all, not sure how you managed to buy Pro Tools 8 LE without any hardware - didn't think it was available to be sold that way?

Secondly, yes you need either Digidesign or M-Audio ProTools M-Powered hardware.

NOW I understand - for $149.95 you bought the UPGRADE which is no use to you anyway as you need an authorised copy of the original software to use it.

Pro Tools is Audio Editing software James :P

Yes, you will need to buy the extra bit of hardware. I'm hoping to get myself Pro Tools 8 over the Summer. It looks more user friendly on Mac, unlike Pro Tools 7 which looks industrial!

I stopped using Pro tools A LONG time ago.

I was making my own Jingles/sweepers using Fruity loops. But it just sounds AWKWARD when you are on the air following your own voice in jingles.

If you haven't looked into it, FL is from Germany, and I don't care what ANYONE says, they are the head of the game in synth/music software interface.

My world got crushed when my buddy left, he owned the producer addition, and the goodness in me wouldn't allow me to continue to use a demo copy (very big advocate against piracy, economy's too tight right now for people not to get paid for their time in coding). One day when I am making a little extra cash, I will have my treasured program back.

But yeah, easy to operate, and very easy to come up with decent jingles quickly.
