THFS
Thinking of doing a Mackie 24x8 What do you all think?
JBVoice
Anything by Mackie, Behringer and most of the times Yamaha are all great products. I like Mackie and Behringer I say go for it. -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. The rest have big screen TVs. - Jim Rohn"
THFS
Alright. It is now down to that Mackie, versus Behringer MX9000 Eurodesk What do you think?
Jinglemaster
Of those two? The Behringer wins hands down for me. I have got Behringer in the studios at work and at home. Wouldn't have another make. I got rid of the Mackie one I bought a couple of weeks back, the sound just wasn't up to scratch for me. It is a personal choice though so write down ALL the qualities you want and see whioch ones ticks ALL the boxes for that sort of budget.
THFS
Alright, The both meet the requirements... Just wondering.. Anyone else have any other opinions?
Brutish Sailor
I've never done theater so I don't know what you really need in a mixer. I have heard that when you go full volume from source with Behringer, you can get a lot of hiss, but that was second hand info. But with that being said, I would recommend going down to (insert general local music store here) and testing this theory before you drop that kind of loot. But personally I love my little Behringer Xenyx802, and I live and die by it as a recommendation to all future small web casters looking to expand their live show and save some processing for other events that might spike CPU... Brutish Sailor
Agreed. I will say this for behringer, I HATE the sites tech support knowledge base. After I bought this one, I was looking online for 6 hours on how to hook this thing up to my comp. Finally found my answer on You-tube. Was very hilarious too, because I guess they included this same mixer in the behringer podcast kit. So their was tons .... I mean TONS of different post scattered throughout the net asking how to hook up behringers 802 to the computer properly. The thing that blew my mind about it is apparently the package had even included a USB connector for it. I wont ask how they could make that soup sandwich until I tried it though. Brutish Sailor
Read a bunch of various articles about the Behringer MX9000 Eurodesk power supply burning out, but thats about it. A good review site can be found here http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/Behringer/MX9000+Eurodesk/10/1 Saw various complaints about the mackie here, including one about interfacing. http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=137697 Id say behringer on the choice.
