Brutish Sailor
Any other home broadcasters using one computer? I saw this tutorial, and it is BY FAR my favorite setup. I use it now. Kinda interested in how every one else is doing theirs. http://www.podcastpickle.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t11853.html I like this setup because no skype=1 less worry about where my processer usage is going. Brutish Sailor
Also, keep in mind if you use this trick for a cellphone, most of them interfere with stereo equipment, and I would recommend running cord extensions far away from your comp as to not let it interfere with your equipment, because theirs nothing like having static in the broadcast. JBVoice
I myself have 3 computers, one broadcast, one magicjack (phone line) and one for general bits, playing clips etc. By far the best way is to plug your phone to the mixer using whatever method you can find. I found that using a speaker phone, with a mic up close worked well back when I had one computer -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. Brutish Sailor
I thought about trying to ghetto rig a MAGIC JACK to do audio output. Im pretty sure its possible. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego

JBVoice
Well, the way I have my magic jack set up is just using the softphone on the computer. You don't need to have it "ghetto rigged". All you need to do is set the audio settings to the default pc speakers, plug them into the mixer....then, I use a USB Condenser Snoball mic, sit it in the center of the table (so it can pick up all the guests in studio) and then when your ready to answer the call, turn up the mixer port....and boom :D You could ghetto it and just use a speaker phone, either way Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. WayneOwens
One piece of advice here,,,, Some say you can go to RadioShack or Verizon Wireless and buy certain hookups for your cellphones and regular phones to broadcast callers... Well there is a real simple fix to this and it saves some cash in the long run. If you have two PC's this works really well. Two comps are almost a necssity for a radio studio unless you have a full base console and a way to engineer your phone lines up lol Download Skype or download Express Talk (both of which are internet telephony softwares). The advantage to the Express Talk is that it is a 6, yes SIX line phone program. then go and sign up at CallCentirc, (Ihighly recommend them for inexpensive rates) get yourself a landline number or two plus a toll-free number, then input them into your Express Talk. You can then set it up so that the lines can be divided say 3 on the local numbers and 3 on the toll-free or just mix and match them all into all 6 lines. But I have had the greatest luck with this and using TeamSpeak (http://www.teamspeak.com) to transmit the phone calls over the air...it's so easy a caveman can do it lol. But for any and all that want to use this idea let me know and I can try to get you setup as best I can.
