Jinglemaster
Just ordered my new synth. A Korg microkorg XL. A great synth. Also splashed out on Ableton live Suite 8. Big projects coming up, so an upgrade to the existing gear. New 22" monitor on its way too.
Ricardo
Congratulations on the new synth. I gather it's hardware as opposed to VST? Is it one of those that are a little smaller than the originals? I remember some Korg products through the years, but I can't quite place that one. My last Korg purchase was about 11 years ago. I bought an X5DR, which I liked a lot. Jinglemaster
Yes, the microkorg is hardware and a very powerful synth indeed. I have cancelled the order for Ableton Live after 'words' with them today! I have also just sold my Korg Electribe EMX-1. And I have sold the Boss VT-1, so everything here is looking a LOT more streamlined.
Jinglemaster
I did have an X5D. That must be about 1995? It was a great synth actually. It was a choice of that or the O1Wfd at the time. the price was the deciding factor back then.
carlwelden
I have sold the Boss VT-1, so everything here is looking a LOT more streamlined. While I would've liked to have bought that Boss VT-1, I did manage to win an Alesis Metavox vocoder off of eBay tonight. My first new toy in a while. Not as cool as a microkorg, but I'm guessing I'll have a fun time experimenting.
Jinglemaster
The microkorg XL is probably the single best bit of kit I have bought in years. The keys are minikeys, which makes them almost unplayable, but you can of course use a midi keyboard plugged into it. The on board sounds are good, but once you start playing with the settings the whole world opens up. As you may have noticed, I have been playing with the vocoder today. More fun than many things I have played with over the years (behave yourselves!)
