JBVoice
Hey guys, There is a very real possibility that I am going to need a new home for my radio show. There are some real drama happening with management where I am at now...hopefully it changes because I love where I am at now but I'd like to see my options. The conflict is, apparently, even though the station im with advertises as indie/unsigned music.....im not allowed to play more than 3 indie/unsigned bands per hour. My wish is to have a full indie/unsigned show once my library builds. The genre is Rock, Punk and some metal...I have a good set of followers that I will be bringing along which could improve listener stats and I would love to have a listener chatroom and a easy-to-navigate site.....Let me know and I'll figure out something -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. MADcHATTER
We have no problem with playing alot of indie or even all indie. I'm working on our own Social Networking style site. We are moving more towards an Indie moderate station. We have our own IRC chatroom and we are an Adult station. We never censor the art, the artist or the DJ. We're still a Hobby station but we've been around for over 4 years now and are entirely self supporting. Last year alone we had over 130,000 listener hours with a minimal staff. If nothing else, iWebRadio is an option! Think it over, come on by and meet the other DJ's. Get to know em...we have a great bunch! WayneOwens
hey JB, I know of a station that would fit you well.... That station is called High Speed Radio, they focus on rock and racing, send the owner an email at deryl@highspeedradio.com and tell him Wayne sent you, me and him own sister stations, so we both help each other when needed. But yeah, shoot him that email and he will get back to you promptly.
orestoneradio
If you are still looking for a home (or know anyone that is) we are looking for good DJ's for our new station. You would have the freedom to play what every you want if it is unsigned. There are some rules if you are playing registered music (like no more than two tracks from the same artist next to each other i think). We work in GMT and have several time slots still avalable. I know we are new but we are doing lots of promo work with new artists, we have already generated a fair bit of interest.
JBVoice
Ok, thanks for all the replies. I will keep them in mind. Here is my problem now...I am having to stop my show all together this summer because I'll be working 2 additional jobs...so basically I will be working 12 hour days 7 days a week for 2 months straight....but it's pretty fun and easy work (at least the evening job) My plan was to start working with another internet station in the Fall to host my show....so, feel free to list any positions or stations willing to host my show for me (once a week). My preferences are: 1. I'd like to have at least 128kbps (not a necessity) 2. I'd like a chat room, shoutbox etc and the ability to embed a player to my myspace/website 3. Ability to play whatever I want ;) So, keep the stations coming! I'll review them once the summer is over and make my final decision -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. WayneOwens
Again JB, you are more than welcome over at High Speed Radio, my nuddy can fit you in once a week, he has a 96K and 24 k stream setup, it's all rock, metal the like, and they have a live player page with a chat room, so you can post a link to that on your myspace and site... Just email Deryl at the address i gave you earlier and he'll be happy to put you in somewhere
JBVoice
Thanks, I'll add his email to my contacts list. I just got a job on a carnival cruise line for 30 days and next year will be for 6 months, so I cannot commit to ANYTHING at this point. I was sad but also happy because, I get to sail around, DJ in the "Teen Center" and chill out during the day LOL. When I return from my Europe trip (vacation) I'll be more looking to do more with my show Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. I have two different streams setup RNR1 is Classic/Hard Rock & RNR2 is All Metal. Yes we play mostly corporate music but we do have a large indie catalog as well. JBVoice
Thanks for the offer. Like I said, right now I need to focus on getting my financial issue fixed. Well, maybe I didn't say that before but I am now. I just had to take a second job and might be working a 3rd job this summer. Once the summer is over and I have a nice steady income with one job with normal hours, I'll dedicate a day to do a show, I'll let one of you guys know which station I choose. -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries.
