BWorld
Anyone to help with this?! To be honest with you, you came to the website demanding help. You did not ask for help. In addition to that, you haven't contributed to BroadcastingWorld. My suggestion, help other people out in the forums, and type carefully. You dont want to be demanding when you are asking for FREE help. Contribute to Broadcasting World, and I'm pretty sure you will get a reply. Anyways, Welcome to BW and I hope this advice helps you in a response. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? MADcHATTER
The link you provided doesnt open a page but I remember a few things about the Mirage. The Mirage is a Triphase (3 band) Audio Processor designed to differentiate audio levels so they can be adjusted to create a stations "Signature" sound. There really is no Default settings. The idea is to work them into cohesive levels that fit together to create the cleanest crispest sound for you at broadcast. Just remember one major rule of thumb. If your going to broadcast on FM, the signal to your transmitter cannot exceed a deviation of 75 KHz! With the Mirage your single signal is split into 3 seperate coherent bands allowing each to be individually manipulated to avoid over modulation. Then combined back for transmition. It usually takes awhile to adjust them to your liking. The AGC Drive and Release are measure in Decibles. I would keep them around -6db to -4db tops to start with, (thats about midrange) set your Gate Threshold low, say around -20 and -17 to start also. Then you can adjust the Bass, Midrange and Trebles (Bass, Presence, Brilliance) and Density (Signal thickness) to where you get the best sound balance. Then get someone with both a decent and a crappy FM receiver (and a cellphone) to help you adjust them (depending on Standard FM or Stereo FM) these levels could change drastically. Once you have them set to the levels you like. Mark them...this will become your stations "Signature Sound"! Mind you if your broadcasting into the kilohertz ranges you should have no problem. If your planing on getting into the Megahurtz ranges then you need to rethink your audio processing scheme. Dont forget to figure in your transmition range and radius to your calculations. Just a suggestion. This is the best I can do from memory. I would contact the manufacturer and find out if they have the technical spec's on the device and frequency analysis results based on performance tests. These would give you good idea's on where to start adjusting. The shortest route I can suggest is what I did up top. Experiment to find your stations signature sound! gc985radio
idk=( never seen it . but set the gate threshold about 17,agc drive 4,agc release 7,bass 1:00 position, presence 3,brilliance between 4 and 5 and density 6.idk the box so i can't say how it will sound Hi, I need help about processor(http://www.aev.net/global/mirage_1.php)....I mean I need the best parametars for this processor...(example; gate thr:?!?, AGC Drive:?!, Release:?!)..how to make good sound on it!? stevey
Hi, I need help about processor(http://www.aev.net/global/mirage_1.php)....I mean I need the best parametars for this processor...(example; gate thr:?!?, AGC Drive:?!, Release:?!)..how to make good sound on it!? Thanks;)I'm usually used to using bigger processors but I volunteered to do help someone with one of these for a charity event and it had me scratching my head for a while hence searching this forum. I swore I'd come back after I'd got it about right. Ok this is what I ended up with, and some of them seem a bit odd, but here we have it. Gate THR -16, AGC Drive 4.5,AGC release 4.5. base 5, Presence 3, Brilliance 3.8, Density 6. That alone isn't enough and it needs some help from a graphic, I'm afraid the one I had to use was a bit limited but this is roughly what I came out with 125hz + 2db,250hz to 2k flat,4k +1db, 8k +3db, 12k+ 6db. This is a fairly highly processed sound but it sounds bigger and louder than it deserved to do from that box. Keep the overall peaks about 2db quieter than the loudest commercial station on the block and you should be off and running.
eastman17c
Hi this is first post, I am Radio technician for 28 years here in the Philippines. what I learned that the first thing I will adjust in my Audio processor is to start to the Manufacturer Factory preset. There you can start tweaking but before you do it , first you must see to it to align the signal - level (gain) settings of all equipment chain in the system so that they have the distortion at the same level. sorry for my english thanks
