James
Alot of stream hosts use maps now which show the exact location where the stream listener is. Most that i have seen have used google maps which i think is the only one with api's. Which one do you use? They are logs Brutish, i should have worded it better hehe. I meant google maps / live maps / yahoo maps. It tags exactly where the user is from Still the DNAS logs are quite useful if the host doesnt offer GeoStats Thanks brutish! Brutish Sailor
I know, I just use it as an alternative. The one nice thing about logs is you get what player they are listening with as well. Disclaimer: The following in bold is semi-off topic THIS is one nice thing about Centova cast interface I noticed. You can get the Google maps, AND the program interfaces with DNAS, to give you a detailed list of player and RECORD STATS for everything. When I first took a look at this Centova, I had my doubts, but they did go a MUCH better direction for development then I originally anticipated. As far as the SC_Trans, I am realizing they did A WHOLE LOT MORE right than most companies that skinned it. I might try it this week to see how well it REALLY works, but very impressed with my short term public demo. Not enough to believe that WHMSonic wont one up them, but very impressed. I have seen someone come up with their own google map script on WINAMP, but Im having trouble locating it. Also... http://whos.amung.us/ This is a clever trick to put this site stat collector on your launch page. anyone who hits that page? pinpoints their IP's. collects times and stats for free as well. A cool little widget. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego

Awesome feature. I put that on our list of things to add a few weeks ago in fact.

Not to advertise or anything, but if you like what Centova Cast has done with "sc_trans" (actually it's mostly done with Ices ;) ), then you really need to talk to Karl @ KWD Services about their entire web-based automation system. I think you'd be really impressed what can be done with web-based automation For a real life example, Acoustic Alternative runs 99.9% off KWD's automation, including all of our DJ's shows, requests, etc. I honestly believe the future of internet radio will be web-based automation. It really builds collaboration on an entirely new level. We have half a dozen DJs from around the world, and none of them ever have to connect to a Shoutcast server, set up a DSP, or even have their own music. Anyways, I've been extremely impressed how much can be done with systems like these, and look forward to seeing to future of web-based automation. icyshout
We are running with centovacast and it seems to be the best money can buy so far for usability and management and Web2.0 capabililties.
