Hey, I just wanted to inform you guys, as I write this on my laptop in a hospital room, that I'll be out of studio for a day or two. Thanks to a ditzy teenage female driver slamming into the side of my car at 45 miles per hour, causing her car to flip sideways and mine completely over, SHOCKINGLY, I got out and ran to her car to make sure she was ok. I feel fine, not hurt except for a few cuts from broken glass but the doctors said they want to keep me over night. No need to worry, except now I'm in the market for a new car because the teenager wasn't covered legally with insurance and I have no "uninsured" driving insurance coverage. So, basically, if anyone has any jobs...now is the time to hire me...LOL

I should be back tomorrow night or Wednesday, I'm just thankful that I walked out of the car alive :)

Hey! Glad you are OK! Watch out for the shock after effect, with me it took a few days when I was in a bad car acccident back in 1979 or thereabouts!

I remember it all happening, like it was in slow motion- EVEN NOW!!! Both myself and my lovely wife were fine thankfully!

Jon-You'll be ok, just take it easy :-)... and take a few days off!

Good luck,

AB!

If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net

Thank You!

Hi JB

Bad news for sure ..

however .. Are the parents at the USA not responsable for their children ?

In Belgium anyway or the other, no matter whats happening parents are still responsable to their kids ...

Strange enough to girls untill the age of 21 and to boys untill the age of 23.

Insurance or not .. parents have to pay all damage caused by their kids.

This is part of the Belgian law, I don't know if it is used also at other European countries.

I'm home! Apparently, I did have a few bruised ribs...but it could have been worse! And Jame, I don't want pity money, I want voice over jobs, I had 3 in my inbox when I came home this morning which made me smile lol. Arthurburton, last car accident I was in was worse, I had nightmares after I got better, in that one, it was in a friends car and we were drinking...never again, will I ever go out drinking, drive or let someone else drive who has been drinking.

Now, my plan for this issue is I plan to take the family to court only to pay for medical costs and a new car, I am not big on suing especially since the family obviously has no money, but I at least deserve to be paid back for my troubles.

Thanks guys :)

Oh and James, don't you hate having pending money in Paypal...I have $7400 pending or on hold for my motorcycle I just sold on ebay, the guy bought it for $7000 and paid for me to get it shipped ($400) lol but since that money is on hold, I had to pay the $400 out of pocket!!!! I was less than pleased lol

Hi JB,

This is off topic about your subject .. but I have a question

First of all I'm not familiar with services as Paypal and eBay .. I never used it .. I'm not against it .. but my knownledge of "how" it works is "very" small

How come that your "own" money has a pending or on hold status at those services ?

Is that a general way of working of those services ?

and how long takes it before you can use your "own" money .. after that pending status is finished ?

pending money in Paypal...I have $7400 pending or on hold ... I just sold on ebay

I'm just curious to know because I really don't have a clue about those online payment services

So thanks if you can provide Me with some details ...

Worst car accident I ever got in was a car bumping my bumper from behind at a stop light when the car behind them ran into them. Person behind me had their car totaled and I didn't have single scratch. Luckily no one was hurt.

Glad to hear that no one was hurt in that crash JB, as it sounds pretty serious.

Note of caution: drive safely everyone :)

Hey Jon

Glad to hear your ok. And I agree with what was stated before, if this teenager is under 18 get yourself a lawyer and sue the parents. If she was 18 or 19 sue her! Garnish her wages for the next 20 years. This is the reason to carry insurance. If she gets another car it can be seized to satusfy your claim then you have a car again! lol...

Dont let some kid get away with being irresponsible they'll just keep doing it!

Good Luck!

Thanks, I have a court date in June, wish me luck! Now, to answer your question GKR, ebay and paypal has teamed up to prevent fraud on ebay. I am under the impression that since this particular ebay account is fairly new, is why it holds the funds, but the main reason is that ebay holds it for 21 days or until the person leaves feedback and/or confirms delivery. It's an ok idea I guess, but it puts a major inconvienience on sellers.

Thanks JB for the details

well than it looks to Me that those services are earning lots of money "on the back" of their members

Afterall that money is during those 21 days "hold" on their transfer accounts and I guess they earn lots of daily interests on the amount of money that they keep on hold ... Strange affairs :Z:

but the main reason is that ebay holds it for 21 days or until the person leaves feedback

Wow, kinda reminds me of when I let my cousin ride my motorcycle, it was legal and all, he had his license. He comes back with it smashed up, he put it in the trunk of a cab, sticking out partly, and told me he got hit by a truck...now, I would believe that, except the fact he had no scratches or any marks on him....LOL

Good news, I did get a break from my insurance. They gave me blue book value of my car which was about $2500 and that put me a down payment on a brand new Toyota Camry :) So I'm satisfied, I have a car and I'm safe....now, I have a court date set in June with the girl and her parents...lol
