buzz95
I have been going on thru in my head the bets possible programming for my station.Since I use sam the easy way is just have all my tracks to be shuffled, but then will listemers prefer to hear the hottest modern rock too? As I tyr to think about this, I'm thinking of course anything in che charts would go in that category, but what other tracks would as well? to me there are hottest tracks, then there is semi popular tracks, then there is tracks that are still coiol but old.I would like your input on how i can make the best programming scedule, so listens will evenyually increase
Brutish Sailor
Ok. SOOOO MANY ROUTES TO GO WITH HERE. 1) What do you use to broadcast? (no shame in this, when I go live, I use winamp /w edcast) 2) Do you want Good quality? Cheap? or best quality at cheap (that makes you my kind of guy LOL. 3) Mind auto DJ's? 4) What is your personal level of computer knowledge? know linux? How to SSH? or FTP? GKIye
Hi Buzz, In general you can adjust each track into the "song info" .. but to do this for each song .. thats a HUGE job I'm doing it as following : (SAM offcourse) You can do it into 2 different ways a ) in general all your tracks are loaded into the directory "Content" > "Music (Music All)" b ) on top of that you gonna find a directory called "Playlists" > "Tracks (Tracks All)" Since I use sam the easy way is ... if a ) Make into the directory Music (Music All) different "new" directories, name them as you wish ex: Rock Pop, Rock Soft, Rock Hard etc etc Now .. open your config and see your "playlist config" and open the clockwheel section (below of the artist, song, album rotation) Clear the content and click add + category and choose 1 of the made directories of your Music (Music All) .. this way you make a general format You can even add other directories every X-songs such as an ID, promo etc and you can adjust the way songs has to be played > by weight, random etc If you're done "save" your new clockwheel to your program files > SAM > PAL If you wanna make several different formats during the day / night .. make X-times a new clockwheel and save them once again Now you are able to load them by using your "Event Sheduler" .. set your ES as new event action, add time and load clockwheel > choose 1 of those you made repeat this for all the other clockwheels if b ) Make into the Playlists directory new directories .. ex: name them to the type of set you are willing to make if done, click on 1 of the directories and you gonna see a blank window where in general your complete songlist is visible .. Now you gonna add "manual" tracks by using add + files and load them ... On the bottom of that screen you can see the total time, so you can make a complete 1 hour set etc etc if done .. save the playlist - its gonna create automated a .m3u file - and put it somewhere at your pc where you add similar files You can do the same for all new directories .. Notice = if you like to make a "new" content of a specific playlist ... right click > remove > and click CLEAR .. and nothing else .. or you gonna get troubles with your 'Music All" and repeat everything who is written on top of this When ready You can do a similar thing as into a ) Open Event Sheduler and load a new event action, add time and choose add + playlist and choose 1 of the playlists aka .m3u files .. In case you are using the b ) choice its maybe once a week some work to make your playlists but it can work out to the quality of your format that you are willing to make An important wink can be .. at my server all tracks are into their specific directories (ex: pop, 80s, 90s etc) and all tracks are loaded into the Music (Music All) section into a directory who has the same name .. So thats most easy to search and find songs to make a playlist by genre Hope this was usefull Visit and listen @ BW !

wsimkins
Well, it would've involved sending him to a page in my website which would've been considered self promotion in the forum. I already got in trouble for that last night so i was trying to keep it cool and help at the same time. Wes Simkins We took streaming to the next level!
