buzz95
I applied with windows media and this is what I got from them, could you please tell me what I need to do to make them happy: Thank you for sending the info. Your stream link is promoting a download. Would you be able to provide a direct stream link that without asking for "save, open or cancel" before opening the media player? Also your stream is HTML-View. We are not accepting any HTML-View streams anymore. Could you provide a direct stream like this? http://www.000audio.com/asx/WMG/80snrg.asx This is the link I actually sent them: http://208.99.81.102/tunein.php/dolecek/playlist.asx

GKIye
If this can be any help to you I guess with direct stream link this can be understood also as : http://123.45.69.8:7896 or in other words your IP and Port or make an asx file who contains your IP Port http://208.99.81.102:8084 and add it to your webspace as following http://www.yourURL.domain/Buzz95.asx This way your file gonna open automatic into any player who supports asx Could you provide a direct stream like this? http://www.000audio.com/asx/WMG/80snrg.asx Download the attached .rar file who contains a valid asx file - change all tags where needed (name station, IP Port, genre) - click save - and upload to your webspace as unique file who has a direct connection to your domain name (as quoted on top of this) After you uploaded that asx file to your webspace it ain't gonna ask the user anymore "save, open or cancel" .. it gonna open automatic at any time Visit and listen @ BW ! Brutish Sailor
I need to understand this a bit more. I really want to write a tutorial on this... Anyone with a technical brakedown of this? KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego
NickSS
As far as im lead to believe from clients that have come to us in the past with this issue is WM wont allow anything other than WMS streams. therefore you need a WM server to list in their directory. ajruss
They will take a asx file only they wont spot light your station unless you have a windows server .......and to stay legal his feed link must link back to his swcast stream..http://tunein.swcast.net/launch.cgi/buzz95radio/hi-band.asx
GKIye
thanks for the details. I didn't knew that WM wont allow anything other than WMS streams. Today I learned again something new It could be interesting for Buzz95 to tell him some technical details in general ... Is that possible ? This way We all can learn how it works out ... ajruss
Ok was looking for the first email they sent me but in nut shell .They will take your station if your on a shoutcast server but they will not promote you or make you a editors pick unless you use a windows media server. With a asx file all they will do is list you. They are no longer taking stations that use html view and by 7-1-09 if your listed and still useing html view they will drop your station.side note to stay legal with loudcity or swcast you asx file must link back to your loudcity or swcast asx file. Also windows will have you download two copies of thier Internet Content Providers Agreement fill out all the info on one and mail both to them they will fill out one and mail it back to you .After that they will list you takes about four weeks. Brutish Sailor
That links not registering for some reason. WAIT, Trying to open that in winamp > +1 on rep. So no spotlight for WM if you do not have WM server, but I can register in their directory. Awesome. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego
1Radio
if i click your link, it presents a file for saving - it should simply open my media player - this is what is being referred to. i believe the problem is that your sever is not sending the correct mime-type for .asx files contact your isp and they should be able to resolve it for you.
