kjkoning
I tuned into your station last night while I was fixing some Icecast issues (check out your listener stats sometime), and I really liked what I heard! I can imagine the time and effort you put into everything was immense, and it really shows in the production quality and entertainment factor. In case anyone doesn't know about the station, it paces a (great) selection of mostly rock music, and spaced between songs is basically a storyline of life after a zombie outbreak (think: news breaks, survival tips, police scanners, etc). I think the music selection is based off of that theme too. I haven't heard anything on radio like the mix you put together, and I recommend everyone check it out. Anyways, I thought an extremely original and well-done station should get some props. Thanks Brutish!
Brutish Sailor
You dont know how much this just made my day... This made everything worth it! I REALLY appreciate it!! All the voices were mine, altered using audacity, made me realize how hard it is to build a conversation with myself. I have a couple more uploads, just putting the finishing touches on the script. and YES, the music is based on the end of the world theme. mixed in with some DJ's Im turning the station over to in preparation for a small trip I need to make (job obligation) EDIT: (intro and sweepers by John Bova, script for it by me) But I talked to some today, and it looks like everything will carry on well during this trip. The only reason I have not SCO'ed it and really talked about this project a lot is because of 1 module in xoops that just WILL NOT work right. Once I get that going, I hope to have my forum open to those 1000 goth and deathmetal bands that bug every station in myspace to play them, and have a decent sound and recording, but really dont fit into anyones "knick" so to speak. You don't know how much this just made my day... I've been getting really good feedback from the zombie community, and couldnt have done it without the support of the DA community, James of Lost 80's, Wildun, and Karl/the KWD team. Not to mention all the time IWF and others spent to help me get a grasp of a lot of this. Im sure Im missing others on that, but Thanks to ALL the BW community (not to mention Welden, MAJOR encouragement to finish what I started) and all those that contributed, consider the check headed to the mail. On Icecast: Agreed, I have had 7-8 people making request (In the game, where all of us discovered SC, they have a built in personal message system similar to forums) while Icecast displays 1-3 listeners. Im pretty sure its a glitch from when the last update. I have tried to get on Icecast.org and talk about it, but my account vanished there, and the Xiph.org forum admin have not answered my responces yet. Nor others (GetMarci is working on a script to be compatable with Icecast, and cant get a rise out of them) But this really made my DAY@@ Thanks again kj for checking it out!
