brand your own player

Ok i found this player abit ago not sure where from but its not mine but its free and open to all but i cant work out how to get it working ..ive seen it running and looks real cool could anyone take a look at it for me see what im doing wrong? ill upload it and post link here... cool i no need to upload it i found the link http://www.talkwebcasting.com/index.php?topic=1289.0

just download the software and then run it dont worry it dont install anything

Hey Fozzy,

 

Can't help you out with that mate. I've seen it, but never spent much time delving into it. However, Innocast have donated to us a downloadable web player as a prize for the Radio Awards. We've also just had one designed by them so that passers-by on our website can download the software and tune into any of the registered stations. It's pretty cool. Take a look at http://www.innocast.co.uk/software.php at the bottom of the page. Custom designed and shaped etc with as much info as you can cram into it! haha Our one is due to be finished any day now. I'll get the link onto the radio awards website when it's all finished.

you need to install the esp on your pc

then edit the files with your stream details

and then upload to your server

simple

mmm i have tryed it again and it just wont play my stream?? i did edit all the files and stuff but still no go ?

I would try it out, but I won't for two reasons.

A little off topic here and i know i dont fully understand shoutcast streaming etc, but why do you need to stream to i.e shoutcast etc is it not possible to stream from your pc direct to your website where listeners tune in ?

Yes you can do this, but you still would need Shoutcast on your computer. Then you would make your internet provider upset (and probably violate your TOS) by allowing people to connect. You probably could only stream 1-3 people at 128kbps however.

Yeah sure that's the reason also. But Shoutcast is a must for all that kind of listening methods. Of course there is other streaming servers like Icecast, but the things what I'm trying to say is that you need the streaming server still. Listeners can listen to the radio (which is running by Shoutcast) by webplayer which is in website, but it will catch the signal from Shoutcast after all. :biggrinthumb:

so could i build my own sever for this and be independent ? which is what im getting at i dont want to pay for shoutcast etc long term if i can use my own sever and get the same product at the end of the process.

I just brain storming, but it could mean having a hand full of Djs doing there thing on my station if that makes sense.

Back to the customizable player. I think its great and iv got it working apart from it seems to stop playing my stream every 2 mins or so. Is this a 'feature'? something wrong with my stream? something wrong with my install? or a known bug that can be fixed?

 

Has anyone else had this problem as well? Any ideas for how to solve it would be appreciated

I downloaded this player and it seems to work ok for me but the only problem I have is when the billboard is switched on it works for a certain length of time then comes up with a pointer error and then can't you can't shut the application down unless you task manager it and the adverts don't refresh once Iget this pointer error, if the billboard option is turned off works 100% for me.
