NickolasM.
Hey all! Looong Time I have not been here, I'm going to try to stay more active on here now that Real Life has settled down a little. What I am trying to do. . . Is making alarm sounds in my free time, No idea why but I am sort of addicted to them. I do not really make sounds or VO's so I use the freebie program Audacity. Does anyone know of any free or cheap programs I could use that might help? Or a tutorial on how to make alarm sounds? Currently In Audacity All I do is generate a tone, Amplify, Change Pitch, And Fade In... And it's not sounding too good. When I do a playback I think I'm at the ENT Doctor hearing the different tones and raising my hand when I hear it. Thanks ahead of time for any help. Arfa B
You can do it in Cool Edit pro quite easily! Use the generate tab, then tones- you make all sots of stuff easily.... stand by I'll do some quickies... edit well I've done one extremely annoying one, if I have time, will do some more later! If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net Thank You! NickSS
you will find plenty here to play with, http://www.freesound.org
NickolasM.
Thanks Nick@ss. I asked one of my friends last night on the phone about siren sounds, he makes his own to sound like Thunderbolts and others, He said to use audacity but make sure it is the beta version, In this beta version you can generate a chirp and then use a GVerb to make it sound realistic, I used it to make a slow whoop alarm sound and it sounds better then the one at freesound.org
