How many digital radios do you own?

James

Recommended Posts

At least two dozen old Grundigs etc. that I have collected over the years, and ZERO, ZILCH, NIL, NONE Digital Radio's!

Not that I am scared of technology either.... they just don't work where I live, a friend brought one round, and it kep dropping out! Also, the quality sounds like an old cassette machine made by Philips in 1969!

If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net

Thank You!

Yes James I have internet radio on the pc as well that I switch to. I must be a radio freak,:doh:they are on longer than the tv (thats when Im not on air). Some of the radio's are tuned to different station's so I dont have to retune. Look out here come the guys in white coats. They are coming to take me away aha!

I would kill to have a older Grundig. The 60's era Zenith Transocianic in the large Bakelite case were awesome radios too. A radio isn't the real thing unless it glows :D

The oldest radio i have is a Halicrafter S-41G that is in need of some serious care. Here is what it looks like - http://www.portabletubes.co.uk/boats/hs41g.htm

In my humble opinion, The sensitivity, selectivity and audio sound of vacum tube radios just cant be beat.

I own one, a Wharfedale.

It's a DAB and FM radio, with 4 presets! Although I can't recieve all the digital stations in my area as yet, and my local FM stations are not set to go digital for a little while.

Still, works like a charm, even if it does think the time is 13:17 when in fact it is 23:30!

I don't have any DAB receivers as we don't have digital terrestrial radio yet. If the STB can count as "receiver" (because it can receive digital radio from my catv/iptv provider) then I have one digital receiver :).

I have 1 FM/AM and HD receiver (Sony X D R F1HD), but it's not usable in HD and AM. As for FM-only it's great. Also I have a SE phone that I use for listening to FM radio while on the move.
