billh
Hi folks, I need some help, I don't have the software to edit mp3 files and clean them up. My grand-daughter is doing a project for school and she made 2 short mp3 files. I'm not sure if the noise can be removed or not. But I thought I'd ask you folks seeing you know what your doing. You can hear a lot of static in them and my wife at the end of each one, she shouldn't be in it. If anyone can help me (my grand-daughter that is) out I'd appreciate it. If you can edit them for me I will post a link to other other one. Here is a link to one of them you can play it and download if you want. She wants to be a singer as you'll find out if you play it . http://audioaddirectory.com/detail/macs-song-173.html Thanks, Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . I only do dry reads, if you want FX's you'll have to add them, I might add them. Joonas Piiroinen
It is almost impossible to get good final mixdown with that background noise. Best what I can do. It's not good but still, hope you can use it!
billh
Thanks for trying to clean it up. My grand-daughter is only 10 and I don't think my daughter wants to spend money on recording equipment. But I'm going to tell her, if she wants to make more recordings she needs to buy some recording equipment/software. You don't plug a mic into your computer and use it. I'll leave the other file the way it is. I can hear it now, What do I need and Can you get this? Thanks again, Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . Arfa B
I can hear it now, What do I need and Can you get this? That's not easy to answer in a couple of sentences Bill. Basically, a decent-ish Microphone, maybe a mixer..... if not a USB pre-amp for a laptop. I'm old school in this repect, using old stuff, so have never investigated this stuff properly. There are plenty of people know better than me- who can answer that in much more detail here. Where is Carl when you need him ;-) This is the sort of pre-amp you would need http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&sku=522285&Q=&is=REG&A=details As for choice of mic. ..... time for someone else to take over! billh
Arthur, I need to talk with my daughter and see if she wants to get into recording or not. But, I have 3 extra rooms maybe I can set something up for her in one of them. As long as it dosen't cost me an arm and a leg. She's young and we all know how that is. One day you want to be an actor, singer, fireman, etc. and the next day/month it's something else. Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . Arfa B
You know what I would do... buy a cheap condensor mic at about $10 and plug that in to the laptop, that will give a VAST improvement over the internal mic. on a laptop for sure! One of those tie clip types may be adequate. Do you have one of those headset things lying about? All may be good enough to start with anyway. JBVoice
I would just recommend getting a logitech USB headset to start out with. The quality would be much better than what it is with the internal, and it costs no more than $50 at walmart or even cheaper on ebay -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries. johny c
You can get a good usb Microphone. Check out the Behringer C-1U usb microphone http://www.behringer.de/EN/Products/C-1U.aspx Or better still they also have a pod casting kit. Has a mic, mixer, headphones, recording software and a usb audio interface to plug it all into your pc. http://www.behringer.de/EN/Products/PODCASTUDIO-USB.aspx RAG-FM 107.7 Raglan New Zealand & ragfm.com ........"Top Music Top of the Dial" Click HERE to listen to the RAG-FM radio stream
billh
Thanks for the information on the microphones. I'll go buy her a basic USB microphone and if she uses it alot. I'll get her something like the Behringer pod casting kit and put it under the x-mas tree for her. Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . billh
Jinglemaster, It sounds great!! you added an echo to it? Because I didn't hear that before. As for the other song she is going to record it again beacuse her voice craked a couple of times. I will get her to record the other song again as soon as I can. I will be going on holiday/vacation untill next tuesday or so. Thank you, Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . billh
I talked to my grand-daughter and she asked if you could fix this one also. It's the file I have already, About :60 seconds in her voice kind of cracks. I know that can't be fixed, But I can notice it. She also said to say thank you to everyone for helping. And she said to give you a BIG thank you Jinglemaster, she liked it. Thank you, Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . billh
Ok, My wife thinks I'm nut's .... Because I was trying to write a verse for the song Amazing Grace that my granddaughter could add. The song is hard for her to remember, so I made an attempt to write a new verse. But I've had a few people read it and play the sample/demo. They tell me it should be spoken like it is, not sung. Because it's more of a pome that leads into the song. Let me know what you think. (If anyone can use it for anything let me know and I'll make a better copy. This is only the sample that I made real quick.) "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview .
