Guest Baabaa Productions
Hi not sure of the set up in Aus, but here morse code is not required any more(I had to do it to get an A Class licence). I am sure you will enjoy the hobby....I did Amateur TV for a long time and its great fun...now its on the higher spectrum so its mainly by Sat dish. Enjoy. Lloyd
Nah, morse code isnt needed here any more, My dad had to do it, to get an advanced licence, but he never used the morse code part. Ive had my licence for 10-11 months now, i hardly use it because theres no one my age into it. im going to go for a higher licence soon. so it will be all good
Guest Baabaa Productions
Well I hope you go for the higher licence. I started with a B licence which was UHF and VHF only and then took the morse test to get on the rest of the bands. I never used morse apart from when I was being tutored. Managed to pass the test and locked the key away. My Dad was an amateur also and so was my uncle in Canada so it must be in the blood. Guest Baabaa Productions
Good to see we have one more Radio Amateur on the site. From 8 years old that is great for the hobby. I was quite older when I joined the RSGB as a listener and got my first licence 25 years ago this December. I still enjoy the hobby. Lloyd
is what legal? playing music over it isnt legal in aussie, infact anything for the listerns enjoyment isnt legal. You can do news and things. http://www.wia.org.au http://www.wia.org.au/licences/foundation/about/ http://reast.asn.au/ enjoy
Guest Baabaa Productions
You can also do amateur TV with sound and pictures using microwave dishes. You can use the net as well as long as you are licensed. Or you can just talk to people all around the world.....without a computer or telephone. Its a great hobby.
