Jinglemaster
Or, SPAM for the uneducated amongst us. It is becoming a bit of a problem recently. Twice today (that I know about) people have registered and splashed a whole page of excrement about mobile phones for sale. These scum have no company, no premisses and no phones either. They are scammers hoping to get a few thousand here, a few thousand there. How do we stop them spoiling our wonderful forum? Well, I suggest a 24 hour cooling off period when anyone joins. During that 24 hours I suggest the site team actually check out the address they gave. don't take members from Hotmail, Yahoo etc. Only legit websites. You will lose a few genuine people along the way, but it should stop most of the Monty Python singers. (over 40's only)

BWorld
While I agree with you completely JM, I have to strongly disagree as well. Some of these spammers use real email addresses and since they are indeed real people, we would approve them. Without running a background check to find out who they are, the suggested prevention method would just end up being a pain in the rear and drive members away. I would love to hear others input on this issue as well! Feel free to jump in. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? The NoSpam options are changed monthly and all of our users email addresses are checked by scamwatch. There is not much we can do, i wont start assigning shifts for any of our moderators but all you need to do is click the "Report Post" button on the post you would like to report and it will send a little note to my blackberry and to all staff members email addresses and SOMEONE will definately delete it asap Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content
