Podcast CopyRight Laws?

Recommended Posts

As far as I know, pod casting is a totally different set of laws/rules. Since the music/audio is on demand and can be listened to whenever, they cannot be offered as the same licensing. Unless you have FULL rights/written rights and/or the band is INDIE, you will be fine. Or if its just a talk podcast, you need not to worry. However, if you broadcast a podcast with copyrighted material, and you get caught, the fines are in the thousands!!!!

Well, as far as I know...the average podcaster cannot really afford to buy rights...I'm sure someone has more info for you besides me, however, it is my understanding that podcasting is generally unsigned artists/talk.

Maybe someone else has a better answer?

That's my suggestion ;)

I tried to archive my radio show, but couldn't due to the music I played, so I am pretty sure same goes for podcasts.

Good luck with the podcast!
