Best ways to attract listeners?

I go to peoples houses with a gun and tell them to tune into my station or Ill shoot their dog and make a hat out of their cat.

That seems to be working so far. Get a decent amount of listeners. To bad none of them seem to want to talk to me on the air.

What we did, besides recruiting our chatroom denizens and regular listeners was to hit as many blogs as possible. Reciprocal links with other websites. Contests with real prizes...we gave away an iPod Nano when they first came out for first prize, cash for 2nd, gift card for third in our "Show Your iWeb" contest. Other than that...just telling people about it. In less than 3 years we went from almost nothing to over 130,000 listener hours.

Thats pretty much it!
