Personally, I have started doing Voice Overs part time, due to the economy, which is EVEN MORE reason for us NOT to do free work. I myself have added you to my "NO FREE WORK" list, as well as I'm sure everyone here has. GKIye Posted November 29, 2009 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Hi Brandon, It ain't my problem .. but some advice can be needed - BW ain't "the" forum where "everyone" is asking for free voice overs - BW is a forum all about broadcasting in general, free liners made by a pro voice over is just a "part" of what BW offers - Most of the active BW members contribute to the forum by making a topic about a specific subject and others are making a reply or start a positive discussion about that subject. Subjects can be almost anything : about streaming, hosting, software etc or a general chat untill the request for a DRY liner made by a fellow VO member - Its a fact that as new member you don't gonna receive a DRY liner as in 1, 2, 3 ... (it is maybe possible at other places .. but not at BW) However at the time fellow BW members recognize you as a contributing member they gonna reply without any doubt - At the time you've got your DRY liner ... thank all contributors - If you are in need for a produced file (including a musicbed or specific sample or SFX) just start a new topic and post your DRY liner.mp3, it gonna take a while untill somebody gonna reply, but I'm sure somebody gonna do it. I did Everything I could think of..... What else is there to do. Please notice that BW is a friendly community and you can get in touch with people who have the same point of view, same ideas .... Most of the active BW members are professionals or do have a professional background ... it means that business comes first, and pleasure afterwoulds. Also important is that BW is a "real" worldwide forum ... so lots of different countries (from the US over Europe and Australia untill Pakistan) what makes that everyone has his / her own way of managing things. I found BW awhile ago because I was looking for some help with an idea I had for a site. I asked for help and some of the BW voice over artist offered to try and help me. Just to bad the site didn't work out. Good idea I think, just bad timing on my part. The building trades crashed due to the economy. The voice over artist on BW have made free vo's for me and I have paid for them. To be honest I may have forgotten to use the Rep button to leave a feedback a couple of times. But I have placed links to their sites (I think I got every that helped me out) in some cases for the free work they did, I even place links to their sites (on my site) just because I like their work or I like reading the information they post. As I said, I'm not a voice over artist or broadcaster, but if I can I'll try to help BW and it's members. What do I get? Help if I need it, might be a free VO if I need it for an idea/something I'm working on. Or a reply to a question I have. It all works out in the end, I think. In my opinion BW members are a great bunch of people. They will help you if they can. This is actually for any new member or person requesting a Voice Over. If you want the voice over artist to help you, you need to follow the rules on BW and show the members respect and help them if and when you can. After all you/we are requesting something for free. Search the net and see what it would cost you to have your request produced. You will most likely end up saying to yourself “It cost how much?” "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . I only do dry reads, if you want FX's you'll have to add them, I might add them. I charge bottom dollar, which tends to work out for good and worse.
