wildun
Just a thought, but maybe there should be a topic to address paid produced voiceovers? I would think anyone asking in the free topic is likely expecting free regardless. Seems like I recall, I been gone awhile, for free you would get dry read only. Fully produced files costed money. These vo talents volunteer their time and voice, they should be compensated when you want custom fully produced work.

Regarding this, For this to happen, i suggest posting this in the Announcements, Feedback & Suggestions section. You'd get a much better response. But maybe we do need a new section for paid voice overs. There was a section were people 'bid' for the cost, but I have no idea what happened to that. -Lloyd

That is a very good point Wildun... as we have to pay for the license for the royalty free music.. unless like some here we can do the music ourselves
Arfa B
All it will do is attract even more of the mercinary v/o people who constantly search all of these sites all day looking for a quick buck!!! As if it ain't happening already!!! ;-( If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net Thank You! frankallen
Thats a good point Arf it will be people popping in and out just to earn a few quick pounds and offering nothing to the community, which is very sad indeed. But a great idea if it could be made to work http://i.imgur.com/qrEUBH7.png Check us out http://www.itsjustradio.org
kiwiborn
Perhaps there is a way around it? Like for example, people have to have been here and actively posting in say the past month or at the very least 2 week period before they can respond to paid vo work? frankallen
Thats An Idea not sure how it would be moderated though. Just a thought Maybe we should start a new thread for this in the imaging section or some place like that. http://i.imgur.com/qrEUBH7.png Check us out http://www.itsjustradio.org
kiwiborn
Good idea... Well, perhaps James could appoint a specific mod for that thread who would keep an eye on just that section?

wildun
Perhaps the vo folks could make the free version and add a option to order a fully produced version in the same post. One possibility could be for James to add a paypal button along with the donate one that would be to purchase a fully produced item, just thinking out loud. Arfa B
It's been done on RD (a paid section), and all it does is cause bad feeling! If somebody wants to pay for work go to v123 or voices.com! In fact, I would like to see all requests inferring/offering payment to be banned from BW! If they send a PM to the v/o artist, then fine! But NO open requests! Undercharging ruins it for EVERYONE!!! FREE is better than cheap- as it truly comes from the heart! You cheapen the profession, then it is no longer a profession!!! All that happens is people get lowballed and everyone ends up disliking each other- but bearing up with it.... No, unlike other places, keep this TOTALLY FREE!!!! We will all be much better off for it! If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net Thank You! We will all be much better off for it! Not if we have set prices for services...? That way it is not bidding.. I agree, undercutting devalues our work grossly. I get really upset when I see it. On some sites like Freelancer and Odesk, some of what they are offering to pay is just an insult! And yet some still bid on it. A fair market rate price for our voices is what should be in place.
