mwagner
Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my studio equipment. I'm currently with a USB mic (Plug and play), Wavepad editing software, and a Windows computer. What's the best mixer, interface, mic, computer and software on the market today? and the best combination? It's mainly for Vo's. Audiobooks is next on the list. Tx! Aeolus
the most important thing in equipment when doing VO's, is a suitable mic. I'm sure many people will post their suggestions on microphones below, but trust me on one thing, don't go with them. As it comes for microphones, you have to select the one which suits you (and your voice) the best, so go to a store, try different things out, and buy what suits you the best ! Mixer : whatever that what doesn't give any unwanted noise Computer / Software : Adobe Audition, Cubase, again, whatever suits you best

EricVdM
I must agree with Aeolus, the best thing is to go to the shop and try different mics. Every voice is different so voice/mic has to be compatible maybe you can change it a little bit with the mixer settings but if you have a suitable mic you don't have to change to much it makes it easier to work with. I'm not a vo but a radio dj on a radio station for about 30 years (this year) and have seen alot of mics and what I have learned was not to save money on mics that's the most importend thing to sound your voice just right. nikel
Hi, im using actually Protools LE with Command8. Its a very nice system, and i am very satisfied. For Protools you need Digidesign Audio Box, it`s like an external audio interface an it get connected on USB. As mic i use an M-Audio NOVA.
