I really dont mind if you rant, if you request a voiceover without reading the rules, then id be angry . Bassline
Sorry to see these guys go. I know Ive only been here for a short time and I read and lurk more than I post. But I must say that I enjoy reading the friendly banter between most of the members here. I would like to say something concerning what I've noticed over the last couple months. I realize that most people do not read the rules before they post. They come in, post, steal and run without a single thought concerning the time and effort you talented people put into the work for them. But one thing I have noticed is that many of the regulars jump all over these people. Whether it is warranted or not (I believe it is), I still believe that is James' job to notify them of their transgressions, not ours. That is of course, unless James has told you to do so. There was one day a few weeks that all the top posts were of the regulars admonishing these people. Im not saying they didnt deserve it but, if I were a new visitor and I saw the way people were sometimes talked down-to here, I would leave. I want to see more people here, not less. This is a great site and I enjoy all of your company, I just feel that many people forget that when someone asks for a FREE voiceover, its just that..FREE. If someone doesnt say thank you, or +rep, then shame on them. But when people see stuff for free, they grab and run. And I think we need to keep that mind. Ive had the privilege of doing a VO for someone and them thanking me by donation and/or +rep. Ive also had some take without so much as simple acknowledgment of the time and effort i put into making it for them. It pisses me off too and I keep these peoples names in a list and never do anything for them again. I apologize if this doesnt jive with the way some of you think or feel, its just they way I see it. I hate to see these guys go and I certainly dont want to see anyone else leave. New ideas are always a better solution. Im sure if everyone puts their heads together, we can solve any issue that arises. Im always open to feedback and I have enormously think skin Paul
Jinglemaster
I have been here long enough to be called one of the old timers I think. I for one appreciate your openness and honesty. I have done somewhere in the region of 200+ free voice overs since joining. I have been donated to once and once only. I have received no more than 5 or 6 reps from the people I did VO's free for and our host James has added to those many times when it really wasn't necessary, but was appreciated. I stopped doing free VO's on here last year when it got to a silly stage of people popping in, asking, taking and not so much as athank you or anything. With 30 years professional experience behind me, I do not need to go up the ladder and only contributed VO's to help those starting out - Most of whom haven't got a cat in hells chance of making it in this business. Arthur is an old friend of mine. We have actually worked together in the past I recently found out, albeit 25 years back. I have the very highest regard for Arthur and also for Frank is another seasoned professional. I believe the feeling is mutual between all of us. What has angered these two guys and has previously angered me is the freeloaders. I agree, chastising them is not the best way sometimes, but the ones who then stick aroudn and contribute do gain. Those that up sticks and leg it were not worth helping in the first place. I would rather there are fewer genuine members than lot of non-genuine ones. We have done an annual revision for the voiceover section, i have redone the rules and i will be adding a modification where users with under 10 posts will not be able to access AT ALL the voiceover section. Also, for the time being, any requests that dont follow the rules will be locked with no questions asked. And depending what mood im in, they may or may not be able to ask for another request. I know some voiceover artists dont want me to put in the new modification (10 Posts Before A Request) but its the only way to keep everybody happy. -James Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content

I'm never leaving. The only thing I may ever do is just be picky who I do freebies for. I want to see BW grow huge! I think BW is a much better broadcasting forum than a free voice over forum, but oh well...I'm still going to be contributing every way possible. -JB Jon Bova "Successful people have libraries.
