end user
I got the same response via email. He was like...." Not worth the headache" All I could say...... D@mn!t Daniel, this isnt open for discussion, make the ultimate DSP. Do it. Do it now. Yah I said that BUTT could grab a huge share of the EdCast market but he like want that as he's finished with it. It don't blame him sometimes there are other more important things in everyones lives other then working for others enjoyment although it sucks on our side as its a pretty nice too. Just wish I had the resources and more money to pay someone to develop it more. Whats it licensed under? Maybe we could start a website and get people involved in developing it further with his permission. I'm still waiting for the Banshee plugin and hes more then willing to bundle it with BUTT once its available. If I could get people to write the Amarok style plugin that comes with BUTT for other music/media managers in Linux people would jump onto it. I'll see if I can one written for Foobar2000 and couple of other windows based music/media managers.
end user
Oh and my dell power supplies finally came through so I'm using my Inspirion 1420/Dual Core/4g/ram to run my station and so far BUTT has been on for 12 + hours with out a hick up. Maybe the Acer hardware was the problem all along. Didn't have time to install VNC on it so have to wait till I get home too see if the CPU usage is up. end user
So with the Dell I've had 99% run time with BUTT and no CPU usage problems. So for now Amarok 1.4 + BUTT is a go. Still waiting for a few replies for Exaile and Listen music player plugins that BUTT can use. I've been in contact with a second person on the Banshee mailing list about creating a plugin that write a artist - song info to a text file that BUTT can use. Just waiting to see if they accept the money I offered for the plugin. I'll get one for every linux music manager Then the BUTT creator will have to do more development on it
end user
So for those that want to use BUTT with Linux but don't want to use Amarok 1.4 GmusicBrowser also has a script that writes the current track to a text file that can be read by BUTT. The script can be found here for the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of GMB http://forum.gmusicbrowser.org/index.php?topic=136.msg479#msg479
